Robert McLaren: Harry (18.14) - "Flash in the pan"? Liverpool won 2 Champions Leagues and numerous domestic trophies in those 30 years. They weren't exactly barren.

Shuvam: That time isn't far when football games become 90-minute penalty shootouts.

RyanHoward: Even in the era of VAR people are still convinced there's some massive conspiracy to award loads of penalties to Liverpool and Man United, it's hilarious.

It's a clear penalty. Or is getting booted in the back of the leg only a foul if it's not on a Liverpool player? If that was given at the other end, it would be a good decision no doubt.

    Dave in Bristol

Re: Harry at 18:14. Flash in the pan? 196 points across two seasons, European champions and league champions in consecutive years, and haven't lost at home in the league since 2016. How big's your pan?

Paul Collins: Liverpool fans are such hypocrites. Plenty have played negatively against others or got dodgy decisions against them and Liverpool fans have said they were right. Soon as someone does it to them they whinge and yet they get plenty of dodgy decisions in their favour.

babyboomer: Some day a keeper will have the idea of standing still at a penalty and just catching the ones hit down the middle. They go the wrong way half the time & don't save many when they dive so it must be worth a try.

Hackers: I'm so confused about what's a penalty these days. Does it vary from game to game or does it depend on the time & location of the game?

    FT: Burnley 0-3 Chelsea

    Burnley

Burnley's Ashley Westwood: "A difficult day. They're a top side and we knew that coming into the game. We weren't quite at it today. That's the difficulty of the Premier League. We need to regroup and go again.

"They've got the quality to hurt you, they were stretching us all over the pitch and they deserved the win.

"You want to get on the board. We thought we had enough to beat Tottenham last week. Coming into this game we were confident, but it wasn't meant to be. We've had a few injuries, the sooner we get bodies back, the better."

  7. 'It was the perfect day for us'published at 18:20 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    FT: Burnley 0-3 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell: "It was a tough match. We knew if we weren’t ready for a fight we’d get bullied. We came here ready for a fight and also played our style of football. It was the perfect day for us in terms of performance, attitude and everyone putting a shift in.

"When you’ve got Timo [Werner] coming into the team, it’s not like you’re bringing half a player in. We’ve got strength in depth, but our thoughts are with Christian [Pulisic] at the moment and hopefully he can get back soon.

"One of the key components to having a good squad is having competitive people against each other. We’ve got two or three players in each position who are all fighting for the shirt.

"Everyone wants to play, so it’s pushing us all forward."

Adam Byrne: Never a penalty, the game’s gone mad. Yellow card for diving. And I'm a diehard Liverpool fan!

Lewis Starks: I'll just laugh at the award of that pen. Week in week out soft pens given to Liverpool and United. Compare that one to the stonewall pens not given for strangleholds and two-handed pushes... VAR and refereeing is laughable.

Daddy M&N: How on earth is that a penalty? Football is ruined.

Loser92: Liverpool fell behind to the Blades the other week but still came back to claim the three points comfortably. The Irons will huff & puff for a time but the Reds will ultimately have too much quality.
