  1. On to the big one in Belgradepublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    FT: Scotland 1-0 Czech Republic

Well, that was a good work out in preparation for next month's Euro 2020 play-off final in Serbia.

Scotland did ride their luck a bit, with Czech Republic missing two glaring chances, but the defence was heroic at times and the team shape was impressively disciplined.

Can Scotland make it nine games unbeaten in Belgrade on 12 November?

    Good night.

  3. 'Everyone has to be ready'published at 22:40 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    FT: Scotland 1-0 Czech Republic

    More from Steve Clarke...

In terms of Nations League, how big a win is that?

"Obviously it gives us a little gap and a good chance if we can get one win next month we can win the group. It gives us a good platform. That's what we wanted to do, we wanted to come out of this week with three home wins, we wanted to be in the play-off final. We've achieved that and we wanted to be top of the section and we've done that as well. So, all in all a good, camp."

Do you have more options in the squad now?

"You look at the performance of the boys that have come and joined us, I've got to mention Andy Considine again, second cap, he was really good. As part of a really good back three with Gallagher and McTominay. It's nice for Paul Hanlon to come in and get a first cap. I said to him in the dressing room that everyone has to be ready so when you go back to your club tell your mates that they have to be ready because you never know. In this time with injuries as well and coronavirus it could hit you at any time so we want them all to be ready."

  4. Clarke happy to build momentumpublished at 22:36 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    FT: Scotland 1-0 Czech Republic

"A good performance, obviously a little bit backs-to-the wall in the second half when they pinned us in," is how Scotland manager Steve Clarke begins his assessment of the match on Sky Sports. "I thought first half we gave a really good account of ourselves. We were a danger on the break, obviously got the goal and defended really well."

Is it pleasing you can show those two side to your game?

"We're always trying to move forward and keep the momentum we've built over these few games. Tonight's just another example of that where you've had to dig in towards the end. Everybody coming onto the pitch, the subs coming on, making a big difference and it's been a big squad effort over the ten days we've been in camp."

Three clean sheets too how pleasing is that?

"I think it's good I think it shows the little tweak that we made last month seems like the right decision. You never get carried away as a coach because you know that football can come back to bite you, but it seems like a good decision, the defenders did well. The boys in front of them also defended well, we actually scored the goal off a really good press when we've nicked the ball off and got Ryan in."

After so many good displays, particularly in defence, over the past week, do guys like Kieran Tierney and Scott McKenna get back into the side if fit and well?

It's one of those "good problems" managers talk about and who can predict who will be available for the matches next month.
