  1. Rampant Donspublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

Aberdeen utterly rampant for the first half hour. Looked like they could have scored at will.

Ryan Edomndson has put in a brilliant shift. Perhaps the sight of Sam Cosgrove on the Dons bench has spurred him on.

As for Accies, true to recent form, they didn't start playing until they were a number of goals down and seemingly dead and buried. And, after the battering they have taken, they do deserve credit for not completely going under.

  2. 'Hamilton need to go for it'published at 19:55 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    HT: Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academical

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Hamilton need to just go for it here. If they get the next goal, the pressure can really turn on Aberdeen. But they need to start playing in the right areas

  3. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

What a half - and Aberdeen are half way to third spot in the Premiership.

It took all of 14 minutes for the first goal to go in, but there's been a steady drip since then.

Accies had gone into this game after conceding 12 goals in four games and it is no surprise judging from their defending tonight.

Goals from Tommie Hoban, Lewis Ferguson and two from Ryan Edmondson exposed their fragility and it could have been more.

David Moyo got one back for Accies, but even their renowned battling qualities surely can't bring the visitors back into the game now.

So close to Accies' second goal as Ross Callachan breaks into the box and, although his first shot is blocked, his second is heading for the net before Andrew Considine stretches a leg and somehow deflects over the crossbar.

From the corner, home goalkeeper Joe Lewis lets the ball slip out his grasp and the Dons scramble clear.

    All action here at Pittodrie.

  5. Postpublished at 44mins

    Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academical

So nearly five as Scott Wright uses his pace to make the by-line and his cutback is cleverly backheeled towards goal by Marley Watkins, but goalkeeper Ryan Fulton smothers it in front of goal.

    Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academical

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

It has been better from Hamilton. They are battling a bit more and getting closer to Aberdeen. They seem to only start playing once they're three goals down

  7. Postpublished at 39mins

    Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academical

Accies goalscorer David Moyo looks to be tripped a couple of feet outside the penalty box by Ash Taylor, but the referee waves play on.

  8. Hayes off, McLennan onpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    Aberdeen 4-1 Hamilton Academical

After that flurry of goals, Aberdeen make a change, with Jonny Hayes having failed to recover from that early clash of heads.

The winger is replaced with Connor McLennan, who manager Derek McInnes admitted before kick-off had been unlucky to find himself dropping to the bench.

    David Moyo

Hamilton came from three behind to St Johnstone to narrow the gap to a goal before losing 5-3 on Saturday. Can they do something similar tonight?

That's one back for them as David Moyo steals in at the back post to volley home as the Dons defence are left looking on like statues.

That's the striker's first goal of the season.

GOAL Aberdeen 4-0 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 32mins

    Ryan Edmondson

First full start for Aberdeen, first senior goal and it is quickly followed by another for Ryan Edmondson.

  12. Dons rain goals on Hamiltonpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    Aberdeen 3-0 Hamilton Academical

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie Stadium

The heavens have opened at Pittodrie and it has started to rain goals for Aberdeen. All their creative players look up for it and are zipping it about really nicely on the fast surface. They have got the three goals, it could be more and Hamilton have to find some sort of way of trying to weather the Dons storm.

  13. 'You worry for Hamilton'published at 19:27 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    Aberdeen 3-0 Hamilton Acidemical

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Edmondson takes up a great position and it's a great finish. But you really start to worry for Hamilton. This score could be anything if it continues in this vein

  14. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 3-0 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 23mins

    Ryan Edmonson

Ryan Edmondson and Ryan Hedges both go close before the former grabs the third goal that has been threatened.

Jonny Hayes' cut-back finds Edmondson and the 19-year-old striker on loan from Leeds United side-foots home his first-ever senior goal from 10 yards out.

    Aberdeen 2-0 Hamilton Acidemical

    James McFadden

  16. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 2-0 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 20mins

    Lewis Ferguson

    What. A. Goal.

A neat stepover from Ryan Hedges on the edge of the penalty box and Lewis Ferguson thumps it first time and it screams past goalkeeper Ryan Fulton and into the far corner.

  17. 'Accies overplaying it'published at 19:19 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    Aberdeen 1-0 Hamilton Academical

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Hamilton are putting pressure on themselves by overplaying it. That's what lead to the corner in the first place. It's such a simple goal to give away and really poor defending

  18. Postpublished at 14mins

    Aberdeen 1-0 Hamilton Academical

Aberdeen threaten again, Lewis Ferguson thumping a 30-yard free-kick that drifts a couple of feet wide.

  19. 'Too easy for Hoban'published at 19:15 British Summer Time 20 October 2020

    Aberdeen 1-0 Hamilton Acidemical

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's just too easy for Hoban. He's all on his own, no-one near him from about five yards out. You can't allow a centre-half that much space. You're just asking for it

  20. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 1-0 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 12mins

    Tommie Hoban

Hamilton have built their reputation of being hard to beat, but their tendency to lose simple goals in recent games continues.

Ryan Hedges has been influential for Aberdeen in recent weeks and curls in a corner kick for Tommie Hoban to drift off his marker and head home from close range.

    All too easy for Aberdeen.
