    Bristol City 1-2 Norwich

    Ooft.

The television cameras show a replay of Grant Hanley miscontrolling a Tim Krul pass onto his arm in the Norwich penalty area.

There were some Bristol City appeals for a penalty - it would've been harsh but I've seen more farcical handballs given this season.

  2. Two more early gamespublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

Gillingham 0-0 Sunderland; Exeter 0-0 Carlisle

The early lunchtime fixtures in League One and League Two have just kicked off.

Sixth-placed Exeter are hosting fourth-placed Carlisle in League Two. Out-of-form Gillingham play Sunderland in League One.

I'll bring you news of any goals from St James Park and Priestfield.

  3. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Bristol City 1-2 Norwich

That wasn't too far wide of the post from Nahki Wells.

Bristol City scorer Jack Hunt gets down the right again and squares back for the Bermuda striker, whose curling effort has Tim Krul scrambling.

Wells then turns Norwich centre-back Ben Gibson in the box but can't get a clean shot off.

  4. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Bristol City 1-2 Norwich

Norwich full-back Max Aarons squeezes past his opposite number but can't really dig out a cross and the ball goes harmlessly into the side-netting.

The crowd noise being pumped into our televisions got a bit excited there - proving nothing can replicate real-life fans in stadiums.

We miss it every weekend and hopefully normality will be resumed when it's safe.

    Teemu PukkiImage source, Rex Features

Teemu Pukki hadn't started the campaign on fire - perhaps a hangover from the second half of last season, where he seemed to lose his mojo.

But the Norwich striker's movement and confidence is sky-high now.

He had a half-sniff for a hat-trick straight after Bristol City's goal and is constantly on the prowl.

  6. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Bristol City 1-2 Norwich

Norwich's defence has been leaky for the past two seasons and Bristol City really struggle to keep clean sheets at home - so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised that this is such an open game.

Bodes well for the remaining 70 minutes if you're a neutral.

  7. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-2 Norwichpublished at 15 mins

    Jack Hunt

    This is some game already.

Jamie Paterson forces a save from Norwich keeper Tim Krul and his cross then causes a scramble in the box before wing-back Jack Hunt fires in to pull one back for Bristol City.

An entirely avoidable goal for the Canaries but the hosts needed that to settle.

  8. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 0-2 Norwichpublished at 14 mins

    Teemu Pukki

    He's done it again!

It's a nice pass through from makeshift left-back Jacob Sorenson but Bristol City are wide open at the back and Teemu Pukki gobbles up another chance.

His shot takes a deflection on the way in and Norwich double their lead.

    Bristol City 0-1 Norwich

Well that early goal has gone with the form book.

Norwich took a while to get going after their relegation back to the Championship but are scoring plenty of late goals to get results.

Bristol City on the other hand have struggled since winning their opening four league games - was that start just a purple patch?

    Teemu Pukki

Wow - that's the Teemu Pukki we saw early on in the Premier League last season.

Bristol City give Marco Stiepermann too much time on the ball, he threads a lovely ball through to the Finland striker - who times his run to perfection, takes the ball into his stride and hits a powerful half-volley past Dan Bentley.

Norwich lead with a move of real quality.

Both sides getting into their stride on what is now a sunny lunchtime in Bristol.

Norwich are likely to have more possession here but what will they actually be able to do with it?

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Bristol City 0-0 Norwich

    Here we go then.

Bristol City are without a win in four but are sixth in the Championship, while Norwich are unbeaten in four and below the Robins on goal difference.

    A tough one to call.

Bristol City v Norwich (12:30 GMT)

Before we do get under way there's a minute's silence as this is Bristol City's last home game before Remembrance Day next month.

The players are also wearing black armbands in memory of England World Cup-winning player Nobby Stiles, who died on Friday at the age of 78.

The players are out at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City are likely to continue with their 3-5-2 formation, while Norwich are a 4-2-3-1 side, with Danish midfielder Jacob Sorensen continuing at left-back.

    We're almost ready to start.

  15. Stats stacked in Canaries' favourpublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

Bristol City v Norwich (12:30 GMT)

If football was played on paper then this one looks like an away win all day long.

Norwich have lost just two of their past 25 away Championship matches while Bristol City have recorded just one clean sheet in 13 at Ashton Gate.

The Robins are also winless in eight meetings with the Canaries - but all that means very little and the teams are only separated by goal difference in sixth and seventh place.

  16. Postpublished at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

Bristol City v Norwich (12:30 GMT)

Conditions in Bristol have been varied this morning, to say the least.

However I'm assured the clouds are now lifting and we should hopefully be in store for a nice slick surface for passing it about.

That may suit Norwich, while the hosts tend to be a tad more direct in their approach - no that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

Bristol City make four changes to the side that lost at Bournemouth on Wednesday - former Norwich striker Chris Martin the most eye-catching of the players to be recalled.

It's two changes for Daniel Farke's in-form Norwich - Todd Cantwell drops to the bench along with Mario Vrancic, with Marco Stiepermann and Przemyslaw Placheta coming in.

Bristol City: Bentley, Hunt, Vyner, Kalas, Moore, Dasilva, Brunt, Paterson, O’Dowda, Martin, Wells.

Norwich: Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Sorensen, Rupp, Skipp, Buendia, Stiepermann, Placheta, Pukki.

Friday's Championship game saw leaders Reading suffer their first league defeat of the season at the hands of Coventry.

The Royals would've gone nine points clear with victory but goals from Gustavo Hamer, Matt Godden and Sam McCallum gave the Sky Blues a first win in seven which saw them move out of the relegation zone.

Here's my full match report (yes, I worked last night too - get the violins out).

    Saturday's EFL action

Halloween may feel a bit different this year for obvious reasons, but for now we still our weekly festival of EFL football to hopefully keep us sane.

We have 33 games to monitor across the Championship, League One and League Two - with Bristol City against Norwich getting us started in 15 minutes.

Sit back, forget about everything for a few hours and who knows... your team might even win today.
