    League Two latest

Unbeaten in nine games in all competitions, League Two high-flyers Exeter have made a good start away at Morecambe tonight, with Joel Randall capitalising on a defensive error to open the scoring. That one started at 18:30 GMT.

Elsewhere, the second half is just getting started at Oldham, where Athletic are level at 1-1 with Cheltenham in their 18:00 kick-off.

Tonight's early League One kick-off between Shrewsbury and Burton Albion is getting ready for the second half, after a goalless first 45 minutes between these two struggling teams.

The Brewers arguably edged a tight first half there, as both teams bid for only their second league wins of 2020-21.

And seven 19:00 GMT games in the third tier have just got under way.

Again, 11 fixtures across this division this evening with Port Vale against Scunthorpe unfortunately also postponed due to Covid-19 infections among the Scunthorpe squad.

But, leaders Newport County will be looking to extend their run of five successive wins when they head to Carlisle United.

Cambridge United will be looking to return to form when they hosts Salford City, with interim manager Paul Scholes still in charge for now (more on that to come).

At the other end, both Mansfield Town and Southend United are still winless this campaign. They travel to Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City respectively.

We'll also keep you posted on how the two earlier kick-offs at Oldham and Morecambe finish up as both visiting sides, Cheltenham and Exeter City, could climb into the top three tonight.

There are 11 fixtures across the division this evening with Accrington's trip to fourth-placed Hull City unfortunately postponed due to the ongoing numbers of positive Covid-19 tests among the Accrington squad.

Meanwhile, three teams are currently level at the top on 22 points.

The leaders on goal difference, Peterborough United travel to Bristol Rovers, Lincoln City in second host a stuttering Portsmouth while Ipswich in third travel to Sunderland, who are sixth.

Charlton are another in-form side to keep an eye on. The Addicks in fifth have kept six straight clean sheets and also won the past five games. They host Fleetwood at The Valley.

Finally, it's a momentous evening for all concerned at AFC Wimbledon as they play their first match in their new permanent home at the redeveloped Plough Lane. Doncaster Rovers are the first visitors.

  16. Can Ismael's 'new manager bounce' continue?published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2020

Cardiff City v Barnsley (19:45 GMT)

    Valerien IsmaelImage source, PA Media

A seemingly-revived Barnsley travel to a stuttering Cardiff as new manager Valerien Ismael goes in search of a third win in three games in charge.

Victories against QPR and Watford at home have given the Frenchman an ideal start to life with the Tykes, but Cardiff boss Neil Harris has won his past three league meetings with Barnsley.

The Bluebirds could do with that being four in four this evening as they are without a win in their past four Championship matches.

They will also be looking for a first home win of this season having drawn two and lost two so far. The last time they went five at home without a win in a league season came back in 1994 at Ninian Park in what was then known as Division Two.

  17. Contrasting form for both sidespublished at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2020

    Blackburn v Middlesbrough (19:45 GMT)

    Adam ArmstrongImage source, Rex Features

These two sides could hardly go into tonight's game in more contrasting form.

Blackburn have lost their past two games while Middlesbrough have won their past two.

Rovers, who went down 2-0 at Swansea City in their last outing, will be hoping joint-top Championship goal scorer Adam Armstrong can pick up where he left off at Ewood Park.

The striker bagged a brace in Blackburn's last home game despite a 4-2 defeat against top of the table Reading.

Boro will be looking to make it three wins in a row after back-to-back home wins and clean sheets against Coventry City and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Neil Warnock's men have failed to score in just one of their past 10 away league games but have scored just two goals in their past five league trips to Ewood Park.

  19. 'On the up' v 'On the slide'?published at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2020

Huddersfield Town v Bristol City (19:00 GMT)

    Dean HoldenImage source, PA Media

Twelfth meets 10th at the John Smith's Stadium as a Huddersfield Town side who slowly appear to be clicking into gear meet a Bristol City one who have definitely stalled.

The Terriers have won four and lost four, drawing the other one of their nine Championship matches to date, but recorded a convincing 3-0 win at in-form Millwall on Saturday.

Carlos Corberan has certainly got them to produce some eye-catching results so far but consistency is lacking.

Bristol City meanwhile are winless in their past five matches after having won all of the first four this season.

Dean Holden (pictured above) will be desperate for a response from his side this evening after Norwich City brushed them aside on Saturday.

  20. Play-off semi-final re-runpublished at 18:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2020

Brentford v Swansea City (19:00 GMT)

Brentford v SwanseaImage source, Rex Features

Cast your minds back to July this year.... the 29th to be exact. Brentford beat Swansea 3-1 to reach the play-off final in the last game at Griffin Park.

Fast forward to tonight and both sides meet again - same league, different venue.

The Bees who sit ninth in the table have won three of their past four games in all competitions against the Swans and they will be looking to add to that by recording back-to-back wins after overcoming Luton on Saturday.

It's been a stuttering start to the campaign for Thomas Frank's men who have managed four wins from their first nine games.

Swansea come into this sitting in second and will be hoping to make it three wins on the bounce.

The Swans have scored in each of their past 10 away matches in the Championship and will be looking at the Championship's joint-top goal scorer Ivan Toney to keep up his impressive form tonight.
