Bruno Fernandes down on the deck again and he whips his right boot off.

The physio comes on and gives it a squeeze but the midfielder grimaces in pain.

It does not look good for him.

Plenty of options for United on the bench though.

Luke Shaw has his critics, but he's exposed one well-known flaw in the Everton defence: that there is room down the left behind James Rodriguez.

Shaw set up the first, and his advanced position has allowed Marcus Rashford to drift inside to support Anthony Martial. It's a tactic which is working.

United break after James Rodriguez gives the ball away.

Anthony Martial is through but his low shot is straight at Jordan Pickford.

    The Frenchman flagged offside anyway.

    Everton 1-2 Man Utd

There were 20 passes in the build up to Manchester United's equaliser against Everton, scored by Bruno Fernandes - the second longest passing sequence leading to a goal in the Premier League this season.

I initially put Marcus Rashford for that second goal, defo looked like he got a header on it but Opta, BT and everyone else has gone with Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese now on a hat-trick.

  9. goal

    Bruno Fernandes

    Turned it around.

The marking is not great again but let's talk about Bruno Fernandes.

Ohh it's delightful, chipping a perfectly-weighted ball through towards Marcus Rashford, who leaps for it between two Everton defenders but doesn't get a touch and it sails into the net via the far post.

  10. CLOSE!published at 31 mins

    Everton 1-1 Man Utd

United get a free-kick after Michael Keane bundles into Bruno Fernandes.

The goalscorer wants another, rasping a Cristiano Ronaldo-style free from 30 yards out, which drifts over all the players but Jordan Pickford can gather low down.

Might have caused some problems for the Everton goalkeeper, but he dealt with it well.

Bruno Fernandes likes playing at Goodison. Two games here and two goals. Another well-taken effort, but again you have to question Everton's defence.

The Portuguese midfielder drifted into the box, a la Paul Scholes, and gave Jordan Pickford no chance.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer punched the air in delight. And relief, no doubt.

This is starting to open up already.

  12. Fabulous Fernandespublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2020

In just his 10th away appearance in the Premier League, Bruno Fernandes has 13 goal involvements on the road (9 goals, 4 assists), the most of any player in their first 10 away games in the competition.

  17. goal

    Bruno Fernandes

    Back in it.

United's defending for the goal they conceded was not great, neither was this from Everton but what a cracking header.

Luke Shaw stands his man up then chips a cross towards the penalty spot, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate are caught on their heels allowing Bruno Fernandes to sprint in and powerfully head home the leveller.

    No chance for Jordan Pickford.

Miniman: Hope this game makes Man Utd realise where they are is far from where they want to be

Mic: If Man United were top of the table and winning a lot, I’d say “Ole stick with what got you there!” They’re not good. A good manager would look at the talent they have on the bench and adjust the system to fit them in. Not just keep sticking with what beats PSG.
