  16. 'Kane is much more than scoring goals'published at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport about Harry Kane scoring his 150th Premier League goal: "I prefer not to speak because he speaks by himself. Because some other players can have an incredible goal record but after that, what they did? This guy does much more than scoring goals. For example, last five minutes he was playing as a number six and winning balls in front of the defence. Special.

"Every team, if you want to have a good position in the table and want to win objectives you need to win matches like this. We managed a clean sheet, we managed to be safe defensively.

"I feel satisfaction because we won and have 17 points and have 12 in 12 possible away from home and that compensates the dropped points at home, for this reason I am happy.

"If Liverpool win it means Manchester City drop points, if Leicester win it means Wolves have dropped points. I am fine with that."

  17. 'The win will come with performances like this' - Bilicpublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    West Bromwich Albion

Baggies boss Slaven Bilic: "If we play like this, so brave and so committed... today we were crazy in a positive way. In every game we play like this then we'll have a chance. Very disappointed, but at the same time positive about the performance.

"Was it luck, or the decision-making that meant we didn't score.

"I'm a bit disappointed but we learnt a lesson that this should be the minimum effort. If we go like this every game then we have a chance.

"The win will come with performances like this. A little bit more luck, quality and confidence in the final third."

  18. 'I don't feel under pressure'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West brom 0-1 Tottenham

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am very pleased with the way we played against a top side. Every game is an opportunity and we showed if we play like this, play committed like this and show awareness in every second of the game then of course we will have chances to win the game. Extremely positive but at the same time gutted about the result.

"This is a kind of bonus game when you play against Spurs. It shows if you have chances in this kind of game and we continue like this then we will have a genuine chance to stay in the league.

"This was a team performance. It was not only defending, we were pressing them high and getting into situations in the first half and again in the second half.

“I don’t feel like under pressure. I told the guys don’t think in a negative way that we did not win the game. The wins will come with performances like this."

  19. 'Can't always play beautiful football'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

More from Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports: “These two wins away 1-0, Burnley and here, they can tell us it is not always possible to play beautiful and to score three or four goals and be fluent. You need to keep clean sheets, we tried to score, we tried and tried and tried. We forced all the way against a very organised opponent.

“When we scored with five or six minutes to go it was time to fight, time to give everything. This is the way sometimes to win points.

“We leave on the bus now and we are top of the league and when we arrive in London we could be third so no point to get carried away.

“Now they go to national teams and time for me to have a couple of days rest. I keep saying the same, one day I will be a national team coach and will want to win the same way as they do so I don’t complain when they want their players to win matches."

  20. 'Three very important points'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2020

    West Brom 0-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are top of the table but other clubs have a match in hand so let’s see what happens.

"Honestly if Liverpool and Leicester win it is not a problem for me at all, the first important thing was to get the three points, three wins in a row for the first time this season and by getting 12 points from 12 away we compensate for the dropped points at home.

"This match was very difficult. West Brom showed how much they are with Slaven Bilic because the way they fought to try and get the positive result says everything. I wish them the best and I am pretty sure with this commitment Slaven will take them from where they are now.

"We defended well, we were compact but they were very good tactically. Three very important points for us."
