    West Ham 2-1 Aston Villa

    Ollie Watkins hits the bar!

The striker leans back a touch and slams it against the top of the crossbar. Oh dear.

I think Declan Rice had a tiny piece of his shirt. He has a little bit of the bottom of his shirt. Trezeguet goes down very easily. There's not enough force to take him down.

Is that enough? When you pull someone's shirt in the box, it's a foul - they don't have to fall over.

  3. ouch!

Trezeguet is bleeding heavily from the head, I'm not sure how that happened but he doesn't want to go off. You need that looking at mate.

He got an inadvertent stud to the face from Declan Rice on his way down.

  4. PENALTY to VILLApublished at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2020

    West Ham 2-1 Aston Villa

Declan Rice scrams NOOOO to the heavens but he's been penalised for a pull on the shirt of Trezeguet.

There's not a massive amount in it, you have to say, but enough to be a penalty...

That's just brilliant from Jack Grealish! He's on the edge of the area, he's got three defenders on him but a dragback and flick beats them all in one fluid movement. Jarrod Bowen is left chasing shadows.

Grealish stands up a cross and Ollie Watkins heads it over.

Villa continue to push for this equaliser. It's not been a bad game at all. Matty Cash is in the book for a right old swipe at Seb Haller.

Ezri Konza is a good player. The more I see of him the more I like. He came from humble beginnings, playing at a lower level.

He looks like he has the capability to play at the highest level.

Lukasz Fabianski into action again, a routine enough save this time to land on Ezri Konsa's shot from the edge of the area. West Ham being pegged back though.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 64 mins

    West Ham 2-1 Aston Villa

Oh it's a great save but he had to score!

Villa scramble clear a West Ham corner and one superb pass from Jack Grealish unlocks the hosts. Ollie Watkins is away down the left, he picks out Trezeguet in the middle and he must only be about five yards out.

Lukasz Fabianski is able to make a one-handed save but the forward rather kicked it into the floor. A complete miscue.

He's not everyone's cup of tea...

Good play from the Hammers to find Pablo Fornals in the area and his low cross/shot is cleared over the top by a scrambling Villa backline.

Seven Fields: Grealish may be good, but it also seems he's trying to take over Neymar's role as football's super diver.

BeerWednesday: If Grealish is going to play act at least hold the correct knee. When will we see retroactive yellow cards for play acting and diving.

Steve, Bicester: Grealish is a disgrace to professional footballers. That's a yellow card.

West Ham are the first side to score in the opening two minutes of the first and second half in a single Premier League game since Man City against Fulham in September 2018.

This is very much how West Ham play. They're not controling the game. But when they come forward they can make things happen and look quite dangerous. Whether it's at a set piece or cross, they have energy and purpose when they come forward.

It's remarkable, West Ham fifth [as things stand]. That's an outstanding achievement.

Jack Grealish is going nowhere this season, surely? He'd cost the absolute earth. Might as well get the Euros out of the way and then see what interest there is.

He's surely put any lingering doubts over his ability to rest this season. A fantastic player.

Stuart Eccles: Exactly how do villa keep hold of Grealish in January, surely destined for one of the big 5, or Arsenal if he likes a challenge...

Anthony Dargan: We have just started to give away the cheap goals again similar to last year. It's hard to play when you're guaranteeing the other team goals

  17. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 53 mins

    West Ham 2-1 Aston Villa

Jack Grealish is on the floor, not for the first or 10th time, and West Ham don't like it. Declan Rice is not a happy chap.

But referee Peter Bankes sticks to his guns and books Pablo Fornals. There was a swipe at the calves of the England man but he did rather exaggerate the fall.

The ref now makes the long walk over to the dugouts and he's booked John Terry and a member of the West Ham backroom staff..

Those changes have really done the business for West Ham, they look sharper and brighter now. Said Benrahma is a cracking signing, although I'm not happy about him wearing number nine.

What a substitution from David Moyes. It's changed the game. Said Benrahma has come onto the left but loves cutting inside. He curls a lovely little cross.

It's a glancing header from Jarrod Bowen. A lovely flicked header. Another brilliant start to a half from West Ham.

Arthur Masuaku was the second West Ham player to come off by the way.

Jack Grealish now finds John McGinn as Villa look for a response, his low shot is on target but deflected away from danger.
