    Northern Ireland 0-0 Slovakia

That's the threat from Slovakia. It's a little too easy for them to break away down the right and when it comes to Albert Rusnak, he cuts inside and gets a shot away.

It's always rising and doesn't trouble Bailey Peacock-Farrell but there was plenty of power on it.

  2. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Slovakia

George Saville does brilliantly under pressure to keep the ball in the left corner. He manages to tee up Jamal Lewis, who curls it deep into the box.

Paddy McNair gets his head on it but it's comfortable for goalkeeper Marek Rodak.

  3. Two of the lucky fanspublished at 7 mins

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Slovakia

The fans are spread around the stadium so there's noise coming from all quarters. They are making themselves heard!

Slovakia deal with the set-piece but this is encouraging from Northern Ireland so far. They are busy and look up for it.

  5. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Slovakia

George Saville tracks back to win the ball for Northern Ireland in the midfield. He sets Niall McGinn on his way.

He's allowed to run with it and Stuart Dallas overlaps on the right. Corner!

  6. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Slovakia

Tomas Hubocan flicks it down the line for Ondrej Duda but Craig Cathcart is there to mop things up.

Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough has just told Sky Sports he has told his players to "believe in what we can do".

When Northern Ireland secured qualification for the 2016 Euros with victory over Greece, a then capacity 11,700 supporters raised the roof of Windsor Park, staying on long after the final whistle to celebrate.

Only 1,060 home fans are able to be in the south Belfast venue tonight and they're finding their voice.

Urged by the stadium announcer to 'bring the noise', they wasted no time and the usual array of favourites are being worked through.

It won't be the same volume of noise, of course, but the support is sounding no less passionate from every one of those fans who came out lucky in the Irish FA ticket ballot.

    Kick-off approaching. Nervous much?

  15. 'Different circumstances now'published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2020

Northern Ireland v Slovakia (19:45 GMT)

Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis: "Qualifying for Euro 2016 was unbelievable. There are different circumstances now.

"It will definitely be on an equal level, if not better, to do it again.

"It's a game we believe we can win. It's a game we've been looking forward to for a long time and we're delighted we'll have a number of fans back in the stadium to back us."

  16. 'What a night!'published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2020

Northern Ireland v Slovakia (19:45 GMT)

Jamie Ward says he "left everything out there" in the Windsor Park win over Greece that sent Northern Ireland to the 2016 Euros in France.

Now playing for Solihull Moors, the forward was part of the team that enjoyed a 3-1 win over Greece in October 2015, with supporters staying in the Belfast stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the achievement.

"The first thing I think about when someone mentions it is just 'what a night!' It was such a great night for all of us," Ward said.

  17. 'It's very winnable'published at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2020

Northern Ireland v Slovakia (19:45 GMT)

Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough: "It's a very positive camp, I feel there's a real focus in the squad with a lot of energy in the last couple of days in training and it's a game we're looking forward to.

"It will be like a European-style game - they are a quality team with technical players. They want to get the ball on the floor and try to cause problems with overloads in certain areas.

"We just have to play to our strengths - play the way we know we can and I believe we can cause them problems - it's very winnable."

  19. Why Evans is NI's 'best ever defender'published at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2020

Northern Ireland v Slovakia (19:45 GMT)

    Mark Sterling
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

"It's difficult to compare players across generations, but I think Jonny probably is the best defender Northern Ireland have ever had."

Fernando Torres could have been forgiven for wondering who the 18-year-old lining up against him for Northern Ireland was - but Aaron Hughes was well aware.

Plucked from the Under-21 squad by manager Lawrie Sanchez just days before, Jonny Evans had been thrust into his senior international debut against Spain at Windsor Park having not made an appearance for his club, Manchester United.

That September 2006 night in Belfast will forever be remembered by Northern Ireland fans for the landmark 3-2 win over a team that would go on to win a World Cup and back-to-back European Championships.

It also launched what has become a stellar international career for Evans who, as well as his inexperience, was facing one of the world's best forwards in Torres. And, as a centre-half playing at left-back, doing so out of position.

Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough on having fans back in the stadium: "It's a game we believe we can win, it's a game we've been looking forward to for a long time and we're delighted we'll have a number of fans back in the stadium to support us.

"I think after the experience of playing in Bosnia with a couple of thousand there, it certainly changes the atmosphere and there's a bit more energy there, so hopefully that will help us."
