Birmingham have only scored nine goals in their 11 Championship games so far this season.

The Blues have not been particularly enterprising going forward tonight.

Coventry won't mind - they've only kept one clean sheet since their return to the second tier this summer.

  8. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Lone Coventry striker Tyler Walker is picked out in the box, but his header from around the penalty spot is nowhere near good enough to threaten Neil Etheridge.

Walker has put in a good shift for the hosts this evening, and has been provided several encouraging moments.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2020

    Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Coventry get the second half under way after referee Oliver Langford has to chivvy Birmingham out of their changing area.

All being well, it'll be an improvement on the first 45 minutes.

Sky Blues keeper Marko Marosi is yet to make a save, and Birmingham counterpart Neil Etheridge has only pulled off one real stop himself.

And that effort came off the chin of Tyler Walker.

No changes to report for either side. Remember, both manager can make five subs now.

    HT: Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Tonight's scoreline reminds me that the first game I ever went to finished 0-0.

I was nine years old and excited to see what a Division Two match would offer.

(Division Two, kids, is now League One. I'm showing my age.)

I thought a poor match would be enlivened when the home side got a corner right in front of where I was sitting.

The delivery hit the side-netting. It summed the afternoon up.

In the half-time break, here's some off pitch news to bring you.

Coventry City chief executive Dave Boddy says EFL clubs have been "abandoned" by their exclusion from £300m of emergency government funding for sports in England impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

None of England's top 92 clubs were included in the bailout announced by Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden yesterday morning.

"The government is not doing everything that it can," said Boddy.

The first 45 minutes are over.

The faster we can all put it behind us, the better.

The best chance fell to Birmingham's Lukas Jutkiewicz, and he really should have hit the target.

Maybe we should have known this game would be a stalemate.

These clubs have played twice already this calendar year, and both games were drawn.

They met in the FA Cup fourth round and drew 0-0, with the replay finishing 2-2 after extra time.

    The Blues won on pens.

Birmingham left-back George Friend has just skewed a long-range effort well wide.

  15. goal

GOALpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2020

    Mansfield 1-0 Colchester

    A goal!

It's come in League Two though.

Nicky Maynard has given Mansfield a 67th-minute lead against Colchester.

The Stags have described it as a "piledriver" on their social media.

  16. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Blues striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is played into the box but takes a loose touch.

    He's flagged offside anyway.

Replays show he was actually onside, but by the naked eye he did look like he'd strayed beyond the defence.

  17. Postpublished at 37 mins

I'll give it to you straight.

    There really isn't much happening.

Coventry are still enjoying more of possession, but hardly any of it has been in the final third.

Birmingham aren't offering much either. Half time can't come soon enough.

An hour gone between Mansfield and Colchester.

    It's goalless there too.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Almost a prospect of a chance for Coventry, but Tyler Walker slips as he tries to get on the end of a loose defensive header inside the box.

The hosts are looking more solid since their switch to four at the back, although Jeremie Bela has just put in a threatening ball from the left.

It was textbook delivery into the corridor of uncertainty, but no Birmingham player gambled to get onto the end of it.

  20. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Birmingham

Tyler Walker puts in a cross from the Coventry right.

Callum O'Hare is his only teammate in the Blues box, and the ball is cut out by the away defence.

Not the first time that has happened this evening, and it'll keep happening unless Walker gets more support.
