  1. A sight for sore (Rangers) eyespublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

I'll leave you with a league table that will be most pleasing to the eye for Rangers fans, with Steven Gerrard's side now 11 points clear of Celtic, albeit Neil Lennon's reigning champions have two games in hand.

Next up in the Premiership, Hibs have the chance to leapfrog Aberdeen into third at home to St Johnstone, who could themselves move up to sixth.

    Catch you then!

  3. Game of contrasting emotionspublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said before kick-off that Aberdeen and Hibs should not be ruled out of the title race.

After his side's emphatic win over the third-top Dons, it is hard to argue against a traditional head-to-head developing between holders Celtic and leaders Rangers.

  4. Relentless Rangerspublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

    Richard Foster
Partick Thistle defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Rangers will go into that game against Benfica knowing they have a very potent attack and a miserly defence, so it's all set up to be a very good game and the way they are going, they are like a steam train building momentum and, if it goes on, it will be difficult for anyone to stop them

  5. Portuguese and Accies nextpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

The next game for the two sides could not be in bigger contrast.

For Rangers, they have a chance to qualify for the knock-out stage of the Europa League against fellow high flyers Benfica when the Portuguese visit Ibrox.

For Aberdeen, a day that began in the Glasgow sunshine ended with goals raining in at the wrong end of the pitch as the heavens opened above. However, they could hardly have a better chance to get back to winning ways on Wednesday away to the Premiership's bottom side, Hamilton.

  6. 'Everything was conspiring against us'published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes tells Sky Sports: "A few things went against us. This is a good Rangers team, they make you work.

"Box-to-box, I thought we were pretty good. Plenty effort from the team.

"Everything was conspiring against us. I've got to applaud the players for just sticking with it."

  7. Aberdeen needed to 'get tighter'published at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

I think Derek McInnes will be disappointed by the performance, whether he says it publicly or not. I don't know if it was just the way Rangers were moving the ball about, but I think Aberdeen could have done a lot better at getting tight with players

  8. 'Dons still having a good season'published at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

    Richard Foster
Partick Thistle defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

While today was disappointing and Aberdeen were relatively poor, they are having an excellent season, they've been playing well in games, scoring goals and have looked relatively solid at the back, so Derek McInnes wont' be too worried about the performance today

  9. 'Outstanding' but 'not getting carried away'published at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on Sky Sports: "Very pleased. I thought we were strong throughout. Four good goals and a clean sheet.

"Can't ask for any more from the players, really. Some of the quality at times today was outstanding.

"We've had a very positive, strong start. We keep moving forward. It's still November. We know there's a lot of hard work to do. We certainly won't be getting carried away."

  10. Roofe 'can't ask for much more'published at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Rangers forward Kemar Roofe on Sky Sports: "Against a tough, tough opposition, we knew it was going to be a difficult game.

"To come away with four goals and a clean sheet as well, you can't ask for much more."

Asked about the increased gap between the Ibrox side and second-top Celtic, he says: "It means nothing until the end of the season. We keep pushing each other."

    Quote Message

I'm struggling to think of a meaningful challenge from Aberdeen. Scott Arfield's drive and energy, that's what Aberdeen should have had. They were far too deep and just so passive

  12. Shot-shy Donspublished at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes will no doubt point to the loss of midfield powerhouse Lewis Ferguson, as well as forward Connor McLennan, because of Covid-19 protocols following their trip with Scotland Under-21s.

However, his side have now failed to score in four of their last five games away from home - and they haven't managed to find the net against Rangers in three consecutive fixtures.

They also miss the chance to narrow the gap between themselves and second-top Celtic to a point.

  13. Impressive startpublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

What an emphatic way to record your club's best start to a top-flight season since 1967-68, although Rangers fans won't like to be reminded that they were still pipped to the title that season by Jock Stein's European champions Celtic.

It's also a 10th home win in a row since the start of the season - Rangers' best since a 21-game streak back in 2002.

  14. 'Four going on six or seven'published at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

    Billy Dodds
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

I really didn't expect it to be that easy for Rangers. I thought they would have to work harder. It was four going on six or seven. It was Rangers at their best, but it certainly wasn't Aberdeen at their best

  15. FULL-TIME Rangers 4-0 Aberdeenpublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

Rangers brush aside the challenge of Scotland's third best side to move 11 points clear of reigning champions Celtic at the top of the Premiership.

First-half goals from Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe had virtually won it by half time against listless visitors.

Two more from Scott Arfield and, from the penalty spot, James Tavernier added gloss to an impressive display from Steven Gerrard's side.

Should be five as James Tavernier's fine cross finds Cedric Itten in the clear at the front post, but the Swiss striker heads wastefully wide.

  17. Postpublished at 90mins

    Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

The pain is almost over for Aberdeen as we enter three minutes of stoppage time.

  18. Postpublished at 86mins

    Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Rangers are toying with the Dons defence as they fall deeper and deeper into their own penalty box.

One two occasions, the hosts bamboozle the visitors with slick passing inside the penalty box, but the clinical touch evades them.

  19. Duncan and Hernandez on for Donspublished at 85mins

    Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen hand a debut to 16-year-old midfielder Ryan Duncan, who was only on the bench because of the lack of numbers.

Also on is Ronald Hernandez, the rarely seen summer signing from Staebek.

Greg Leigh and Shay Logan are the guys making way and are probably happy to be out the firing line.

Ash Taylor puts his hand up and turns away from the ball as if he's afraid of it. That's one of your centre-halves. He should be going in there and dominating it
