I've never seen Sadio Mane give the ball away as much as he has tonight. I'm one of his biggest fans but he's been really sloppy.

We know Liverpool haven't played well but Atalanta enjoy all the credit for this.

Roberto Firmino gets back to stop an attack on the edge of his own box and Alisson quickly releases it for Diogo Jota. He can't bring it in.

Neco Williams dances past two players and frees Sadio Mane in the middle. He tries to pick out Andy Robertson on the left but his pass is really poor.

Mane hasn't had a good night.

Matteo Pessina is replaced by Aleksey Miranchuk for Atalanta.

Takumi Minamino is on for Liverpool. It's Joel Matip who goes off so Fabinho drops into centre-back.

Atalanta look the more threatening and the more likely to go and score again. Liverpool have struggled in the final third. That's unusual.

Atalanta break quickly and it's moved across the box from the left to Duvan Zapata in the middle.

He has his back to goal but turns and snaps a shot away. It's well over.

Cristian Romero has been solid for Atalanta. He gets another good block in to deny Roberto Firmino a shooting opportunity from Andy Robertson's curling cross.

It ends up bouncing back off Firmino and out for a goal kick.

Curtis Jones chases a ball on the right and Liverpool eventually win it under pressure from Fabinho.

But again, there's nowhere to go. Neco Williams ends up running it out on the touchline.

Group D has just got VERY interesting.

Neco Williams' cross is overcooked but Fabinho wins it back for Liverpool with a sliding tackle in midfield.

Roberto Firmino can't get through but again, it's won back by Curtis Jones. There's no space for Liverpool though.

On comes Duvan Zapata. It's goalscorer Josip Ilicic who goes off for Atalanta.

Around the same time Atalanta doubled their lead, Ajax went 3-0 up against Midtjylland. Liverpool's lead at the top of Group D is down to two points, with Ajax and Atalanta both on seven points.

Joel Matip gets a skewed header on the corner before James Milner curls a free-kick in from the right.

Roberto Firmino can't control a half clearance then Matip is beaten to another cross by the keeper.

Liverpool have upped the tempo though. Is it too late?

I'm sitting here stunned. Alisson had no chance with the finish but no-one was picking him up. Liverpool have got it all to do now. It's not what Jurgen Klopp wanted. He needs a response from his players. This is when Liverpool really need their fans.
