Andrew: Only took 43 minutes and finally we've had an attempt ... off-target of course, but that's in keeping with the rest of the game so far.

People are quick to forget the cult hero origi in the Liverpool champions league winning campaign.. as a spurs fan it still haunts me...

Mohamed Salah picks it up on the right but he fires it over the bar.

This photo is probably the best thing to come out of the first half so far.

The man himself, Sadio Mane, wins a free-kick for Liverpool as I post this, just inside Atalanta's half.

Curtis Jones makes a run forward and Mohamed Salah is looking for him with a through ball.

It's comfortably intercepted and Kostas Tsimikas has to quickly turn back to get into possession to stop the counter.

Moments later, Cristian Romero beats Divock Origi to the ball and calmly passes it back to the Atalanta keeper.

Richard: Not sure we can expect much more from a reserve team. Clearly the goal is a point and no more injuries.

Paul: Liverpool may as well be playing with 10 men. Origi offers virtually nothing. Would he get a game at any other top club? No chance.

Steve: Hoping for an Atalanta win. LFC will get through at some point but I want to hear Klopp moaning again.

  10. RED CARD (Arturo Vidal)published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    Inter Milan 0-1 Real Madrid

Bad to worse it goes for Inter Milan as midfielder Arturo Vidal is handed two yellow cards in quick succession by Anthony Taylor following Inter's appeals for a penalty.

Real Madrid have been in complete control of this one. Antonio Conte is furious on the touchline.

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 37 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Atalanta

Josip Ilicic tries to get the better of Kostas Tsimikas in the box. It flicks past the defender and he goes down before it's cleared. There's appeals from Atalanta for a penalty and a shove from Georginio Wijnaldum, who is tracking back.

Need to see a replay but didn't look like much. The referee waves it off straight away.

When you have games like this you just need possession - you need the experienced players to help the younger players. Liverpool just need to keep the ball for five minutes or so, even if you're not going anywhere just have a few touches. It keeps just coming back to Atalanta and they're causing Liverpool all sorts of problems.

Kostas Tsimikas feeds it into the feet of Divock Origi but it pings straight off him. Has to do better there.

    Liverpool 0-0 Atalanta

Alejandro Gomez holds it up well for Atalanta, brushing off challenges from Neco Williams and Joel Matip but it takes too long for his teammates to catch up.

After making ground all the way into Liverpool's box, the ball ends up back on the halfway line.

Liverpool's has been out of tune so far.

Oooh. This would have been a chance! Josip Ilicic cuts a lovely ball through to Robin Gosens, who had crept in behind Neco Williams.

His touch is horrible and it rolls out for a goal kick but it's a let off for Liverpool. He would have been in.

    Liverpool 0-0 Atalanta

Robin Gosens tries to get around Neco Williams on the left but the youngster comes in with a well-timed sliding tackle.

Liverpool play it forward and over to the opposite side for Kostas Tsimikas. He ends up battling with three defenders to retain possession.

  19. Postpublished at 23 mins

Space for Atalanta down the left. Neco Williams does well to get back into position quickly though and Curtis Jones provides cover.

Liverpool are chasing at the moment!

    Liverpool 0-0 Atalanta

Atalanta have been the better team, Liverpool haven't started yet, they've been sloppy in possession. But we do see this with Liverpool, even Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have quiet games and then all of a sudden they have a piece of magic but at the moment Atalanta have been dominant in possession.
