  1. That's it.published at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Finland

It's not the outcome we wanted and it unfolded in the most emotionally torturous way imaginable.

Scotland will not be at the Women's Euro 2022 finals.

It's going to hurt for some time. It feels like a missed opportunity. But there are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future of the women's game in Scotland, and it will continue to thrive despite this setback.

That's all for tonight, thanks for joining me.

    Goodnight.

  3. 'We should have won' - Thomsonpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Finland

"It sums up the last three games. We dominated possession, created good opportunities, didn't take them and got punished with the last kick of the game," says Scotland assistant coach Andy Thomson.

"You have to take your chances, if you don't, you leave yourself open to what's happened. Things haven't fallen our way, it's hard to say what's gone wrong. It's a horrible position to be in and we need to learn from it.

"You can't ask for any more apart from the final bit and that's the hardest thing to do in football. Bitterly disappointing, and anybody who knows football will watch that game and know we should have won it."

  4. 'We need to be better' - Evanspublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Finland

"We needed the result tonight and we couldn't get the ball in the back of the net, it's not about the goal, we knew a draw wasn't good enough," says Scotland full-back Lisa Evans.

"We dominated the ball but we just couldn't score and at that level, teams are going to punish you. This isn't a one-off, it's happened in Finland and in Portugal. We need to be better.

"We've got such a good squad and we've not got the full potential out of it. We all need to be better."

  5. We have to take responsibility - Littlepublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Finland

"We're incredibly disappointed," says Scotland midfielder Kim Little on BBC Sportsound.

"Three 1-0 results and ultimately we've not been good enough, we've not put the ball in the back of the net and we have to take responsibility for that."

  6. It's a ridiculous goal...published at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Finland

If you don't laugh you'll cry. Rantanen doesn't have a clue that she's scored.

It was just that moment where we committed too many players forward that really cost us.

    Unbelievable.

Scotland pile forward and get caught on the counter. Lee Alexander saves Rantanen's initial effort and it rebounds off the substitute's face and into the net.

  12. CLOSE!published at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2020

    Scotland 0-0 Finland

If you want the ball to fall to anyone in the box, it's Caroline Weir.

It's pinball in the Finland area, and Korpela commits herself to a shot which gets blocked and lands at the feet of Weir.

With the goal at her mercy, she fires wide. Was that Scotland's last chance?

Kim Little does brilliantly to roll the ball across the box, and Lisa Evans scuffs her shot into the ground from six yards out.

It all feels a bit familiar, this...
