You can have all the possession you want but you have to work the goalkeeper.

Arsenal have had 58% possession so far.

Eric Dier has the ball midway inside his own half, looks up for options and then launches the ball to no-one in particular and it bounces behind for an Arsenal goal kick.

Kieran Tierney's clearing header from a cross falls to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg just outside the area but his shot is straight at Bernd Leno.

Eric Dier has been a bit shaky in possession so far and he passes straight to Thomas Partey but Arsenal can't take advantage and instead Tottenham regain possession and again counter quickly but the Gunners recover to get players back behind the ball.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn't got into the game yet, he's had four touches of the ball, fewer than any Arsenal player.

What has happened to him this season? He has half as many goals as Kurt Zouma - a defender!

Tottenham have two of the best players in the Premier League at the moment in Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. They work together so well.

Tottenham's dynamic duo switch it up as Son Heung-min crosses into the middle of the box for Harry Kane but the striker is just beaten to it as Arsenal head behind. The corner then comes to nothing.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta actually showed a very neat turn of pace down the touchline to warn his defenders about the danger of giving Son too much space as he took possession before his goal. Sadly they took not one bit of notice.

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have now combined for 30 Premier League goals, the second most of any duo after Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard (36) - 10 of those goals have come in 2020-21.

Arsenal look to respond quickly as Willian whips a free kick into the box but Tottenham head clear.

That will have been a gut punch for the visitors as they were just starting to shade things.

Arsenal have started well and have been on the front foot. I did think it would be a struggle for Tottenham as they like to play. They are going back to front too quickly.

Eric Dier with a terrible back pass forces Hugo Lloris to smash it out for a throw to avoid conceding a corner.

Arsenal keep up the pressure as Hector Bellerín hooks a ball into the box before Thomas Partey drives wide.

Good spell for the visitors.

Tottenham started well but Arsenal are enjoying a spell of possession at the moment. They win a throw level with the Spurs box but Kieran Tierney's long throw is headed away.

First shot of the game for Arsenal as a free-kick is only half cleared by the Spurs defence and Bukayo Saka is onto the loose ball but lashes high into the South Stand from outside the box.

I'm really having to convince myself that the artificial crowd noises are not being pumped through my TV - the noise the home fans are making is incredible. Great atmosphere as now Arsenal attack but Eric Dier gets across to beat Willian to the ball on the right and put it out for a throw.

Brilliant from the Tottenham fans [who clapped while the players took a knee]. They could have just sat there and supported but they applauded and got behind it. Brilliant.

Tottenham, though, have set their stall out early. They are pressuring Arsenal from the off.

Harry Kane is wiped out by Granit Xhaka pretty much straight from kick off 30 yards from goal and Tottenham have a free kick in a good position...
