The fans here tonight feel very fortunate.

Andrea is a key worker from Liverpool, who patiently waited her turn to come into the ground.

"It feels like the first match I have ever been to," she told me. "It is amazing. I cannot wait.

"I was so desperate to go to a game I would have watched Everton….well, maybe Tranmere."

Jurgen Klopp has penned a 'welcome back' message to fans in the programme.

"I have waited so long to say these words so for those of you who are fortunate enough to be here - I am so pleased to see you," writes the Liverpool boss.

"We have missed you and even though we never needed a reminder of how important our supporters are to us, we had one anyway.

"We know Anfield will not be full and we are going to have to wait a while longer before the stadium rocks like we know it can.

"But today is a really positive step - not just for us as a club but for the city of Liverpool as a whole - and I hope many more will follow in the coming weeks and months."

  8. 'In the end it is about the end product'published at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "This is football. They scored a wonder goal and the second we got done on the break because Thomas Partey was not in position, he was injured.

"I saw a team full of passion, dominating the team and creating chances but in the end it is about the end product and that is why they are top of the table. I think we had 44 crosses."

On trying to get Thomas Partey back onto the pitch: "I wanted him on the pitch doing whatever he could for the team in that situation. Anyway he could not carry on playing.

"Maybe we were a little too cautious with Son but it was a wonder goal. It is what they do really well, they did it once because the second we were a man down.

"The fight and the spirit and the way they played in this stadium is to applause bit it is not enough to win football matches because we are not scoring goals."

  9. How much will Wolves miss Jimenez?published at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

This could be fascinating. Wolves are an efficient and hard-working machine capable of following up victory at Arsenal with another big result at Anfield.

But how much of a miss will Raul Jimenez be? The Mexican has featured in every Premier League fixture since Wolves' return to the top-flight in 2018.

Stephen Ward was the match winner the last time Wolves won a league game at Anfield in 2010.

  10. 'Partey has to stay on the pitch'published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: "We have a lot of the ball but no end product that is required to win football matches.

"I applaud their first goal, it is world class, but the second goal we are a man down, we leave a massive gap and they take advantage. He [Thomas Partey] has to stay on the pitch. It looks like the same injury he has already had, he will have an MRI.

"After that we dominated, they didn't have any chances, but they win the game.

"I don't know what else we can do. If we can't score goals we cannot improve our situation."

Wolves captain Conor CoadyImage source, Rex Features

Wolves captain Conor Coady, speaking to 5 Live's The Friday Football Social, about his time at Liverpool: "Liverpool did an awful lot for me growing up. They made me into a better person and player.

"It's an incredible club full of fantastic people. I've got a lot of gratitude for the way they brought me up. I was there from the age of six until I was 21. It was a massive part of my life and I look at it with great pride.

"What they have done the last few seasons is put themselves up there with the best teams in the world. We're going there not cautious but knowing the quality they have got which is incredible."

  14. 'It is good fun to be top!'published at 18:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    FT: Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Arsenal

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport: "Of course we are very happy. We controlled the game by being defensively solid. Sonny and Harry, their finishing was amazing.

"In the second half they created problems, they are a very good team. I don't care about the table or where they are, they are very good. Mikel is a very good coach.

"We kept a clean sheet in the second half which was the objective. Why expose us by trying to have more of the ball?

"They are very good tactically, Mikel is clever. Granit Xhaka dropped into the back three which makes it hard for Harry Kane to press.

"We have played City, Chelsea, Arsenal - if you do three points, four points from those games it is not the end of the world, it is normal. We have taken seven points. The problem with the Premier League is that next it is Crystal Palace and there is no guarantee we win.

"I believe the public and the fans at home are enjoying the moment, for one more week we are top of the league. It is good fun."

Cheers Gaz. Massive win for Tottenham who are back on top of the table.

Jurgen Klopp has been out on the pitch waving to fans at Anfield.

Isn't it great to have supporters back in grounds again?

  19. Postpublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

Right, we'll keep dripping in reaction to Tottenham's win against Arsenal but I'm now going to hand over to Neil Johnston to bring the day's football home with Liverpool versus Wolves.

    All yours, Neil!

  20. 'We didn't go back to normality'published at 18:42 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Tottenham Hotspur

More from Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports, speaking about Harry Kane and Son Heung-min: "Harry Kane clearing balls in the box, Sonny for the first 60 minutes as a winger and then a second striker - it is not just about scoring goals and being world class players. It is about being great guys and doing your best for the team.

"We grew up. I can imagine lots of people can imagine three matches in a row - against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal - would be a moment for us to drop points and go back to 'normality' but we didn't go back to 'normality'. We are there. I believe one more week at the top of the table unless Liverpool win by many."
