  1. 'A very difficult game'published at 18:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a big game in every sense, not just because it was Tottenham-Arsenal. I want to give words, congratulations to Mikel Arteta because he gave us a very difficult game. Tactically they were very good, very organised. They gave us problems, problems we were able to resolve. They have a good tactical courage and incredible spirt. They are a good team and he is a good coach.

"We were reading the game and making the changes to win it because 2-0 was in our hands against a great and difficult opponents but my boys did well today.

"I am very happy with the result and the performance but of course I want the team in the second half to play in a different way. In reality you don't always do what you want to do because your opponent forces you in a different direction.

"You are winning 2-0, why would you expose your defensive block if you don't have to? It was a very difficult game. I can imagine tomorrow the headlines will about them not being in a good position in the table but I believe with these players and Mikel it will be Arsenal v Tottenham again."

  2. 'Son and I are coming into our prime'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham striker Harry Kane speaking to Sky Sports: "Fantastic. Exactly what we set out for. The second half was a bit of a grind - they didn't create too many clear cut chances."

On most goals in north London derbies: "Nice. Great assist from Sonny. Nice to see it go in. We've had a tough few games.

On the partnership with Son: "We're just feeling good. Maybe we're coming into our prime. Understanding the game and each other. We're delighted with the result and the way we defended.

On defending: "It's a season where we're all pulling in the right direction. We're all defending and tackling. I'm happy to do it and win games and that's most important thing.

On Mourinho playing down their title hopes: "One game at a time - it's been a tough period, but a result like this can only help us."

  3. 'Arsenal have got no chance of finishing in the top four this season'published at 18:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    FT: Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

At the moment Mikel Arteta is not getting the best out of his players, do I think it will change, yes I do.

Arsenal will not finish in the top four this season, there is no chance, it is going to be a struggle and a rebuilding. We knew that though, it was always going to take two or three years to come in and let Arteta get in the players that he wants and last season he came in and did a good job but this season is going to be much more difficult for him.

A_Kibria: Can't believe Arsenal used to be a top team in the league. It hurts a lot seeing my team going down every week.

Important to pick up wins against bottom half teams. Spurs of old would have lost this game. Excellent again - North London is ours!

great result, not a great performance but all about winning ugly against the sides at the bottom of the table

  7. 'Spurs were too good for Arsenal today'published at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    FT: Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Spurs were excellent - it wasn't pretty in the second half from Spurs but if you want to win titles it doesn't matter how you play as long as you get the three points. And Tottenham had done all the damage in the first half. Spurs are a counter team at the moment, they defended well and hit Arsenal on the counter. Arsenal tried in the second half but they just didn't have enough, Spurs were too good for them today.

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is just short on confidence at the moment, most definitely. He needs a goal desperately and once he gets one they'll start coming back like buses.

  16. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

Three minutes of normal time left and a late comeback is looking very unlikely for Arsenal, despite their possessional dominance. They keep pinging balls into the box but rarely do they land at one of their players.

  17. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal

Another attack by Arsenal as Alexandre Lacazette plays a ball through the lines to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who fancies trying to get a shot in at Hugo Lloris' near post but Toby Alderweireld gets across to block.

This hasn't been a bad performance by Arsenal, they've been the better side really, but Tottenham have just been by far and away more clinical.

Arsenal and Man U have a similar issue. Huge, structural problems at the club but everyone just wants the quick fix of 'sack the manager', like that'll solve anything.
