  1. 'The Magpies will have to do a lot better'published at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

Manchester City v Newcastle (20:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Newcastle did not play well against Brentford when they went out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, and they only managed a draw at home to Fulham last weekend.

The Magpies will have to do a lot better than that to get anything at Etihad Stadium and I don't see it happening.

Having Sergio Aguero back fully fit to lead their attack would be a big boost for City but I would expect them to beat Newcastle even if he isn't ready. [He's on the bench]

    Lawro's prediction: 3-0

That should surely be the win for Arsenal now. Althought they have just sent on Shkodran Mustafi.

    Terrible penalty!

That nonchalant side-foot looks alright when you get it right but get it wrong and it's a proper Gareth Southgate job,

Bernd Leno dives left and easily saves from Jorginho.

Oh it should be 3-2 now! What a cross from Jorginho, Thiago Silva rises high at the far post and thumps the header wide.

Thomas Stockting: Rode our luck today in some areas (soft pen etc.); but the point is we have capitalised on our chances today. & the kids are alright aren’t they!

Where are the Arteta out brigade this evening? This is a long term project. It took Klopp 5 years with Liverpool to clear out the squad and build a title winning team. As a fan base we need to stay patient.

    Tammy Abraham (85 mins)

    Goal given!

Callum Hudson-Odoi cut the ball back from the right and Tammy Abraham steered it in from close range. He ran back from an offside position and was just on when he scored. Good use of VAR.

He actually scored with his chest having seen it again.

    Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea

Nearly four again! Awful from Edouard Mendy who tries to play the ball back to Kurt Zouma but only passes it straight to Alexandre Lacazette.

It's a gift for the striker, who goes for the curler over Mendy's head and he makes a brilliant one-handed save.

A lengthy stoppage as Pablo Mari takes a knee-on-knee whack from Tammy Abraham and the defender is not moving well at all.

When we do resume Abraham heads over when well placed.
