You wouldn't think Liverpool are up at the top of the division and Newcastle down at the bottom. Yes Liverpool have the quality of the front three but they haven't quite hit the game yet. We've seen a couple of times where Newcastle have attacked and then sprinted back really well, they come back with six or seven players.

Liverpool have really upped their intensity in the last few minutes and for the first time tonight Newcastle are beginning to look stretched.

Roberto Firmino looks to be in again but takes too long as he attempts to pick out the perfect pass. Even so, the visitors keep on coming...

You would heavily back Mohamed Salah to finish this off as he's left in acres of space by a quick ball over the top, but Karl Darlow is able to get a hand to Salah's shot and send it agonisingly wide of the post.

Alarm bells for the Newcastle defence there, but a really good save keeps the score level.

Newcastle have done well so far, quite positive and defended well when they've needed to. Callum Wilson has made a big difference, holding it up and linking the play between the defence and the midfield.

What's missing from Liverpool at the moment is that final pass to create a clear cut chance but all the chances so far have come from Newcastle.

The hosts' positive start is showing no signs of slowing down either as they build more pressure in the Liverpool half. But crucially, no breakthrough so far. You feel they really need to make this count.

Well, there's clearly nothing wrong with Andy Robertson.
