It was just a ball punched forward and Steven Bergwijn showed good strength to get the other side of Trent Alexander-Arnold and stabbed it with the outside of his boot.
A good start from Tottenham.

And what a chance for Spurs to take the lead! A long ball over the top catches out Rhys Williams, who mistimes his jump and lets Steven Bergwijn in behind him.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is all over him and puts pressure on, and Bergwijn can only slice his shot across goal. A glorious chance.

Jose Mourinho has a game plan, stopping Liverpool and hitting them on the counter and that is what they have done most of the games this season.
They are playing the champions, the best team in the league and he has his gameplan.

Seven Fields: How undeserved is this result for Spurs. Liverpool far better. Spurs just boring, boring.

You have to say Liverpool have dominated the first half, their tempo of play has been brilliant. Tottenham are just hanging in there but they got a reward with a good counter-attack. It was a fantastic finish by Son but Tottenham are going to have to do a lot more to come away with a result.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho will be satisfied with the scoreline at half-time if not the performance of his team. Pinned back for so long they go in at half-time on level terms.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was fuming, to put it mildly, with the officials in the closing moments of that half.

Son has good reason to be tired, he made 11 sprints in that first half reaching a top speed of 30.74 km/h. Or 19.1 mph in old money.
Gio lo Celso covered the most ground in that half, running 6.36km. That's 90% of the Las Vegas strip.

Ar Vind: This is where Mourinho teams are dangerous. Liverpool need to handle them carefully.
No question that TAA is world class going forward. He's just not good enough at defending yet and without VVD cleaning up for him he gets exposed.

Although it's been a nervy game for most Spurs fans, it's great to see Lo Celso showing off his creativity and play a superb assist into son. His form has been great and could be a key player for us this year.
