It's a goal out of nothing. He goes past Frimpong, El Hamed and McGregor far too easily. It's good feet from him but Celtic's defensive frailties are becoming a broken record

That first half is a microcosm of Celtic's season so far. Whenever they look like they could have something to build on, they throw it away. From this position they need to salvage something in the second half.

    Rangers v Standard Liege (20:00)

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard goes with the same side that drew 2-2 at home to Benfica last week.

That means a host of changes from Sunday's League Cup win at Falkirk.

  9. HALF-TIME AC Milan 2-2 Celticpublished at 45 mins

And breathe... What a manic first half!

Celtic raced into an early two-goal lead, thanks to Tom Rogic and Odsonne Edouard, and could have had a couple more.

In the blink of an eye, the game was level, with Hakan Calhanoglu pinging home a free-kick and Samu Castillejo banging in the leveller after some uncertain defending.

I don't think this AC Milan team are up to scratch defensively from what I would expect of an Italian team. They're giving up a lot of chances here.

Now it's the Milan defence living dangerously again as Kristoffer Ajer is crowded out at the back post and then a shot from Callum McGregor is held by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

There could be a few more goals in this one...

It's all a bit bonkers at the moment as Ryan Christie races away behind the home defence, with Jeremie Frimpong eating up ground to his right.

The Celtic midfielder could have a shot but elects to chip a pass to his team-mate and gets it all wrong.

That's another huge opportunity for Milan. The ball is bouncing towards him but Barkas needs to just put his foot through it. Milan should have done a lot more with that chance.

Celtic have been exposed on their right hand side here. From 2-0 up and controlling the game they've just thrown that all away. If you keep conceding goals you make it so difficult for yourself.

  19. goal

GOAL AC Milan 2-2 Celticpublished at 25 mins

    Samu Castillejo

Celtic's defensive frailties are exposed again.

Jens Petter Hauge has far too much room to waltz into the penalty box from the left. His cutback falls to Ante Rebic and two defenders block the striker's effort only for the ball to fall to Samu Castillejo, who smashes it high into the net.

It goes right into the side that Barkas should be covering. Maybe he didn't see it but he's got to stay and protect that side. Poor goal to give away.
