    Hull sweep the ball forward again, it's Richie Smallwood playing in the quarterback style pocket who is pinging passes about.

    He picks out James Scott on the left, who feeds it on to Callum Elder, and he curls to the back-post.

    Mallik Wilks goes up but can only head wide.

    The chances are racking up for Hull, but not 100% clear cut.

    Hull press, and Greg Doherty sears a shot at his own player on the edge of the box, a painful one.

    Portsmouth just get a key foot in, and keep doing so.

    Callum Elder on the left is proving a useful outlet for Hull, he gets in behind and slides a cross in but Sean Raggett is first to it and blocks.

    Tom Naylor heads away from another tricky set-piece swept in, and Hull are enjoying a purple patch.

    However, Josh Emmanuel rakes his studs down the back of Ronan Curtis' calf and Michael Salisbury blows for a Pompey free-kick.

    Ronan Curtis skitters down the left for Portsmouth but can't get his cross into the mix.

    Hull break and Reece Burke charges forward, Sean Raggett stubs away and it's recycled.

    The Tigers switch it left and Pompey keeper Craig MacGillivray has to tip a swinging Callum Elder cross over.

    He then turns a deep back-post corner behind for another set-piece.

    Hull's approach work has been okay, but once they get to the final third, it's been a bit ragged.

    The latest to push an errant pass is Greg Doherty, who has Josh Magennis stretching.

    Pompey again look for John Marquis but Reece Burke slides in to nick the ball away.

    Some succulent football by Portsmouth who whizz the ball about with surgical precision on the edge of the Hull box.

    Marcus Harness passes to Ryan Williams, and from a distance it looks like Pompey have cloned the same player - same ponytail style hair cut and tricky style.

    Anyway, sheer weight of numbers sees Hull smother the attack.

    Hull defender Callum Elder grimaces as a sweeping crossfield pass sails over his head and out for a Portsmouth throw.

    The main outlet for the hosts is Mallik Wilks. Though Cameron Pring does well to beat him in the air.

    Pompey get it forward to John Marquis who manages to toe it to Andy Cannon, and the return pass puts the striker in but his shot from the right angle is blocked.

    Hull clear the corner and actually, Michael Salisbury blows for a free-kick.

    Mallik Wilks powers into the box and just as he pulls the trigger, sees a fierce shot blocked by a despairing dive.

    Hull looking to take the game to Portsmouth but can't make the ball stick following that opportunity.

    The movement of Marcus Harness is really causing Hull problems, while John Marquis is a totemic figure, always happy to take the pass and hold up play.

    Portsmouth are in front after a curling corner from Callum Pring was attacked by Sean Raggett in the box.

    Jacob Greaves goes to head it away and takes Raggett's boot to the face for his trouble, but referee Michael Salisbury has no problem with it.

    Looked like it might have spun off the stricken defender's head and into the net. Double-whammy.

    Pompey almost get John Marquis in behind the Hull defence, but the bounce just won't break for him and it is cleared.

    Callum Johnson put pressure on Hull down the right and won the ball on the edge of the box, but his curling inswinging cross sailed behind for a goal kick.

    Really like the look of Ronan Curtis for Portsmouth, got a finish in him.

    Mallik Wilks and James Scott provide plenty of pace too for the hosts, and Josh Magennis will have defenders on their toes.
