    Championship

    Bottom six of the CHampionship

Not much to split the teams down at the bottom, other than the bottom two who are slightly adrift.

Quite a few teams still looking nervously over their shoulders...

    Championship

    Norwich top of the Championship

This is how it looks at the top.

Norwich open up a six point lead before the 15:00 BST kick-offs. They will be number one at Christmas regardless of the afternoon's entertainment.

As tasty as a Delia-prepared turkey for those in yellow and green.

    FT: Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Thanks to Ian for his sterling work on covering Norwich's win over Cardiff. Entertaining stuff.

He'll be back for the 15:00 GMT kick-offs, which we'll have a ganzle at now.

  6. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2020

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Norwich will be top of the Championship this Christmas and, on this form, it would take a brave person to say they won't be there at the end of the season.

A goal in each half from Emi Buendia and then Todd Cantwell were enough for a fifth straight win.

It could have been more and perhaps should have been but two was enough for three points.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+4 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Late yellow card for Cardiff midfielder Harry Wilson for a very poor challenge on Todd Cantwell.

Lucky not to be shown a red.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+2 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

    Norwich make two more subs.

Max Aarons and Teemu Pukki, who has missed a lot of chances today, are off and Alex Tettey and Jordan Hugill are on.

  9. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Into four minutes of time added on now.

  10. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Little bit of concern for Norwich full-back Max Aarons but looks like he'll be ok.

  11. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Cardiff striker Robert Glatzel has a pop from 30 yards.

Good strike from that distance but straight at Michael McGovern in the Norwich goal.

  12. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Another warning for Norwich that this isn't quite over.

Joe Ralls sends a corner in and again Sean Morrison meets it but this time the Bluebirds skipper heads wide.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Another Norwich sub and it's star man Emi Buendia making way for Kieran Dowell.

  14. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Down at the other end Junior Hoillet fires just over for the Bluebirds.

  15. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

    How is it not three?!

Beautiful play from Norwich as they move the ball into the area.

Todd Cantwell's way through is blocked and Emi Buendia then smahes his shot wide at the near post.

    Unlucky.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Right on cue, there's Norwich's first sub.

Mario Vrancic is off and Marco Stiepermann is on.

  17. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

No subs from Norwich boss Daniel Farke yet.

Busy Christmas period to come and this one looks to be just about wrapped up.

I'm expecting quite a few changes in the final few minutes from them.

A reminder EFL teams can use five subs.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 76 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

Second Cardiff sub, Sheyi Ojo is off and Mark Harris (no relation to Bluebirds boss Neil Harris) is on.

  19. Postpublished at 73 mins

    Norwich 2-0 Cardiff

I said earlier on that Todd Cantwell was looking up for this one in the opening stages.

He's drifted in and out of it a little bit but that goal was a real display of his quality.

The second he picked it up you knew he was going to score.

Canaries striker Teemu Pukki, who became a father for the second time yesterday, wants one for himself but his effort is charged down.

    All Norwich now.

    Stunner!

Emi Buendia does so well to draw a couple of players to him and then poke through to Todd Cantwell.

He picks his spot and smashes home a great effort from 20 yards that Alex Smithies has no chance with.

Norwich will be top of the Championship this Christmas.
