Hibernian boss Jack Ross says the chance to leapfrog Celtic and move up into second spot in the Premiership gives his side "an extra incentive" against Hamilton Accies.

"All season we've worked towards keeping our points ticking over," he tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound. "Today's another opportunity to try to win the game and put three points on the board."

Hibs have an opportunity to go second [in the table] but they'll be up against a team in form this afternoon. I think this will be an open affair and Accies will play with a freedom today.

  13. Dons welcome return to Pittodriepublished at 14:10

    Aberdeen v Ross County (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

After a bruising run of games on the road Aberdeen will be pleased to be back at Pittodrie this afternoon.

And, with three of their next four matches after this one also being away days, they know the importance of making home advantage count.

While recent results might not have gone as they would have wanted, the fourth-placed Dons have lost just one of their last nine games in the league, and three points against Ross County would see them keep the pressure on the two sides immediately above them: Hibs and Celtic.

As for County, they haven’t won in the league since the middle of September, and currently find themselves precariously placed in second bottom spot.

However their shock League Cup win at Celtic a couple of weeks ago will give them the belief that they can produce another surprise result, this time in the Granite City.

  15. Hibs target second spotpublished at 14:06

    Hamilton Accies v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibernian will jump up to second place in the Premiership, should they record a win today.

Jack Ross's side have won six of their nine away games in the league this season, including last weekend's 3-0 success at Fir Park.

Another three points on the road would lift them above Celtic, at least overnight [Celtic host Kilmarnock on Sunday].

Hamilton have the worst home record in the top flight but have picked up on their own patch recently, drawing with Aberdeen and beating Kilmarnock in their last outings.
