Newcastle are just very difficult to break down. They have seven eight, nine and at times even 10 men behind the ball. Arsenal just need to move the ball a little quicker.

Where they will get some joy, if they can draw Newcastle out a little, is in behind.

Now it's Newcastle who earn a free-kick and a chance to deliver.

Andy Carroll pulls off the back of David Luiz and gets above the Arsenal defender, but his header is tame and drifts harmlessly wide.

Marcus Tavernier's shot is comfortably saved as Middlesbrough break quickly and Marc Bola eventually wins a free-kick.

“It’s good to be back, spending 10 days away from the boys and then spending an extra three days getting back into the swing of things, it’s been difficult.

“I wasn’t very well with it. It’s horrible what’s going on at the moment but I’m glad to be back playing and contributing like I did today.

“We expected as a group to get a result today and we delivered. It would have been awful if we hadn’t got the win today because we were the better team and the longer the game went on we proved that."

Andy Carroll has headed the ball a lot more in his own box than he is in the Newcastle box. When they get the run in behind, players have got to break their neck to get into the box and they just don't do that. By the time players do get there, Arsenal have got bodies back.

Where are the options? Where are the people in the box? The pass has to go in early.

Joelinton has found it difficult. I almost feel sorry for him, with the ball bouncing off him and things just not working out.

Oooh. Marcus Browne runs the length of the pitch before striking one towards the near post, looking to catch the keeper out from a tight angle.

It's palmed away for a corner. Plenty of power on the shot!
