I was just writing that Newport are struggling to create even a half chance but a cross from the right ends up at the feet of captain Josh Sheehan and his low-drilled effort is saved well by the feet of Jason Steele.

A long ball is eventually nodded into the path of Neal Maupay and his effort is deflected wide.

Third change for Brighton as South African forward Percy Tau replaces Alireza Jahanbakhsh for his debut.

Tau was signed by Brighton, and Chris Hughton, in 2018 but has been unable to get a work permit until this season. He played in the Champions League for Club Bruges against Manchester United last season.

There's good link-up play down the right, and Lewis Dunk goes down in the area, but the ball breaks free for Davy Propper and his effort goes just wide of the post.

Was that a penalty on Lewis Dunk? There's no VAR at Rodney Parade but it did look like the centre-half had this feet taken from underneath him.

Newport take off Padraig Amond and Jamie Devitt and bring on Lewis Collins and Ryan Taylor.

Leandro Trossard and Davy Propper replace Alexis Mac Allister and Andi Zeqiri for Brighton.

Good work from Ben White as he nutmegs Ryan Haynes and gets into the area but his effort is wild and it flies over the bar.

Michael Flynn may be the best thing about this second half - it's gone back to being dire.

He screams "LINNNOOO" as he thinks the ball has got out for a throw-in but shouting "he ain't catching up" as full-back Ryan Haynes bombs forward but it comes to nothing.

Mickey Demetriou has started hurling some long throw-ins into the Brighton area but Graham Potter's side have dealt with both well so far.

We're 10 minutes into the second half, at what stage does Potter turn to Leandro Trossard?

Brighton have settled down a bit now.

They manage to string a few passes together and Ben White cuts back onto his left-foot and puts it into the area but Andi Zeqiri's header goes over the bar.

Newport have started the better of the two sides in his half as Jamie Devitt finds space about 25 yards out but his effort is dragged wide of the target.

That's a bit of a waste from Ryan Haynes.

The Newport left-back gets one on one with Ben White in the penalty area but tries to cut in on his right foot, but then decides against the shot and he's eventually closed out.

Newport get us back under way.
