    Crystal Palace 1-2 West Ham

    How close!

Said Benrahma cuts it back for Pablo Fornals in the middle. He should hit it but he lets it run through to Aaron Cresswell.

He hits it first time and skews it but Michail Antonio is there at the back post. He ends up poking it off the far post - again!

    Another let-off for Palace.

How many cabbages would be on the pitch tonight if we weren't in the midst of a global pandemic with no fans allowed in stadia? Asking for a friend.

    Ben, fed up Newcastle Fan.

A shame Soucek forgot this form when I FPL captained him on the double game week, but I'm not bitter. Nope.

Illan Meslier is back on his feet and seems to be OK. Been a bruising evening for Leeds so far, but the scoreline is in their favour.

  6. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Crystal Palace 1-2 West Ham

Michail Antonio picks out Pablo Fornals with a ball from the right. He has Aaron Cresswell in support on the overlap but chooses to go alone, drilling it tamely down the middle and comfortably into the hands of Vicente Guaita.

It's taken us 36 minutes to have our first "we apologise for any swearing you may have heard" from the TV coverage. Golden.

Said Benrahma has a go from long range after Christian Benteke's backheel flick on the right touchline doesn't come off, but he's skewed it. Miles wide.

    Newcastle 0-1 Leeds

Oooh that's a lovely delivery from Ryan Fraser.

The Newcastle winger cuts on to his right foot and whips a dangerous ball towards the back stick, just waiting for one of his team-mates to get a touch on it.

It drops just wide of the far post, with Illan Meslier, Jacob Murphy and Ezgjan Alioski all running into each other in an attempt to get there. The Leeds keeper is now down.

Joel Ward gets forward for Palace and he's picked out in the box. He tries to head it on to Christian Benteke but it's dealt with by West Ham.

Wifried Zaha thinks he should have a throw-in on the left but he won't get one. West Ham will come down the left again through Aaron Cresswell and Declan Rice.

Having very little possession is fine, when that's your game plan. But Steve Bruce has said all along he wants to play with more possession, and he has failed.

Did anybody else put Soucek on their fantasy bench in their infinite wisdom? No? Just me then...

    Crystal Palace 1-2 West Ham

Been a great game so far. Both teams are a real threat going forward.

Aaron Cresswell nicks it off Andros Townsend. Pablo Fornals picks up the loose ball and feeds in Tomas Soucek. He forces a save from the keeper near the bottom right.

Good turn from Callum Wilson and he's caught by Liam Cooper. Probably a bit far out for Jonjo Shelvey to have a dig, but if you don't buy a ticket...

He blazes it well over the crossbar.

Matt Dawson: Soucek seems to be an absolute revelation for West Ham, has changed their midfield for the better and regularly chips in with goals. A bargain at £20million. Also a bargain for my FPL.

Kris Jefferson: There is no doubt Newcastle are currently playing the worst football in the league. They have been for a while actually, they’d just been getting some lucky results. But eventually the results begin to reflect the performances, relegation bound without a change.

Tom Castle: Lampard could be the Newcastle manager by the end of the day.

    Almost 3-1 immediately!

Straight from the kick-off, Cheikhou Kouyate scuffs the pass back. It's a howler of a mistake and Michail Antonio is in!

He ends up striking it off the inside of the left post and it bounces out kindly before being cleared.

You can see what Bruce wants, but the players just aren't doing it. They're going to cost a good man his job playing like this.

How can Bruce set the team up in the same negative way every week and expect different results? Time is up.
