Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
With it being goalless at half-time, we might see Luka Jovic come on as an attacking option for Real as he would want to celebrate his birthday with a game and a goal.
Eden Hazard, back on the bench after almost a month out of action with a thigh injury, is another option for Zinedine Zidane.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
A pretty uninspiring half of football with the clearest chance coming after only 28 seconds but Granada's Antonio Puertas, following a mistake from home defender Raphael Varane, shot over the bar when he should've done a lot better.
Zidane will be expecting a lot more from his side after the break.
A half-chance for Real Madrid but Karim Benzema's shot is deflected wide and the corner comes to nothing.
Granada boss Diego Martinez talks himself into a yellow card for protesting a decision too much.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Just three shots (two for Real and one for Granada) on target so far.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Rodrygo is carried straight down the tunnel and looks in a lot of pain. Let's hope it's nothing too serious.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
It's a painful one for Rodrygo as he's running down the wing and gets challenged, but as he goes down he instantly holds his hamstring and that's his game done. Sadly, Rodrygo is carried off on a stretcher and on comes Marco Asensio.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Granada proving a tough team to break down so far.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada.
Real left-back Ferland Mendy will always remember his first goal and it came in the last time these two sides met - which ended in a 2-1 win for Real in July as his side ended the 2019-20 season strongly to win the title.

Lucas Vazquez gets a Christmas card, but not one he wants. He's far too slow to get to Luis Milla, leaves a foot in and sees yellow.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
And it's a landmark day for Toni Kroos, as he reaches 200 La Liga appearances for Real.

Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Toni Kroos can certainly strike a football. He unleashes one from 30 yards out and has away keeper Rui Silva scrambling across his goal, but luckily for the visiting number one the Kroos radar is slightly off and it flies just wide. Great hit, though.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Real's Karim Benzema on the left flank cuts inside and offloads to Rodrygo and he shoots low at goal but it doesn't have enough zip to it and it's easily gathered by away goalkeeper Rui Silva.
At the other end, Chelsea loanee Kenedy shoots low but it's nothing that causes too much concern for Thibaut Courtois.

Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
A chance for Real Madrid as Karim Benzema takes on marker Jesus Vallejo, with Benzema shifting it on to his left foot and striking from 18 yards out, but Vallejo did well to deflect it for a corner, which is wasted.
Real Madrid 0-0 Granada
Real should be 1-0 down after 28 seconds. After their own kick-off, Raphael Varane sloppily gifts it to Roberto Soldado and he plays in Antonio Puertas who has to do much better than balloon it over the top from the edge of the area.
Granada may live to regret that miss.

And we're off. Real gets us under way.
