Reading deliver a perfect execution of the adage 'Attack is the best form of defence'.

Bournemouth were well and truly blown away by a relentless attacking performance from the Royals.

Josh Laurent, Tom McIntyre and Lucas Joao got the goals. Asmir Begovic has had a hellish 45 minutes.

There's a real tempo to this game. Barely a minute to breathe.

Some teams drop into a lulling, deep, slow game to try to tease opponents on.

Not these two. It's not direct in terms of just whacking it long, but it's certainly positive from both sides.

Reading pounce on a sloppy pass from Lewis Cook, Lucas Joao gets on to it and takes it away from Asmir Begovic.

He slides a pass back to John Swift who scuffs it wide from the centre of the box. Didn't catch it at all.

Ugly finish to a gifted opportunity.

Ovie Ejaria romps forward, streaks clear of the Bournemouth midfield and slides the ball out to Lucas Joao, but the opportunity evaporates as the defence recovers.

Ejaria seems to glide across the turf, long strides rather than raw pace.

Reading through Omar Richards again attack the left side but Bournemouth keep them at arms length as the ball goes back to goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.

Reading break as Lucas Joao's clever flick round the corner pushes the home side forward but it's mopped up by the Cherries.

Then Arnaut Danjuma scorches away down the left but Michael Morrison times his tackle on the Netherlands international perfectly to stop him from threatening.
