    How it stands

Derby County are out of the bottom six for the first time all season after beating Bristol City.

Rotherham's midweek optimism after victory over Boro was smashed by Swansea, while Nottingham Forest's draw with Barnsley is not enough to stop them dropping a place.

Wycombe are now 11 points adrift after their heavy defeat.

Norwich maintain a lead at the top of the Championship but wins for Swansea and Brentford take a big bite out of it.

The Swans host the Canaries on Friday, in what could prove to be a crucial game in the race for automatic promotion.

Neither Bristol City or Middlesbrough are truly able to take advantage of Bournemouth's defeat by Reading last night, so they stay in the top six for now.

    Brentford 7-2 Wycombe

Brentford put in a merciless second half performance to extend their unbeaten run to 18 league games.

Ivan Toney now has 18 league goals after ending his seven-match goal drought.

Rock-bottom Wycombe are now 11 points from safety with one win in 14 league outings.

    Huddersfield 1-1 Stoke

Pipa sends an effort wide and that's the last opportunity for the Terriers as it ends all-square.

Ultimately a frustrating afternoon for Carlos Corberan's men who played against 10 men for the entire second half. They at least brought their five game losing run to an end.

For Stoke, they will surely be content with a point in the circumstances, but the draw stretches their own run of games without a win to nine.

Neither of these teams has been able to celebrate a league victory in 2021 as yet.

    Rotherham 1-3 Swansea

Swansea make it seven unbeaten and five wins in six in all competitions.

The Swans are now four points behind leaders Norwich, and face the Canaries next.

Rotherham's survival bid suffers a set-back with a first defeat in four.

    Cardiff 1-1 Millwall

It's back-to-back draws for new Cardiff boss Mick McCarthy as nothing separates these two mid-table sides.

It's seven without a win for the Bluebirds in the Championship, and one win in seven for the Lions.

Millwall have now drawn 13 of their 26 league games this season.

    Birmingham 1-1 Coventry

It's one defeat in four for Coventry.

    Blackburn 1-0 Luton

Adam Armstrong's late goal proves the difference.

They left it late but it matters not for Blackburn and Tony Mowbray who move up to eighth and within three points of the playoff places.

Luton will feel slightly hard done by after conceding so late and seeing a goal of their own chalked-off for offside in the closing stages.

    Wednesday have done it!

Liam Palmer chose a good time to grab his first goal for nine years as the Championship strugglers picked-up three vital points.

They've now won their last four home games and will need to keep that sort of form up for the remainder of the campaign if they are going to stay up.

GOAL: Brentford 7-2 Wycombepublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

    Josh Dasilva (89 mins)

ANOTHER for Brentford in a goalfest in west London.

Josh Dasilva the scorer this time. He drives into the box, opens up his body and bends it into the bottom left-hand corner.

At least Wycombe are taking it with some humour.

    Blackburn 1-0 Luton

Just after Blackburn take the lead Luton think they have the equaliser.

But it's not to be as Harry Cornick lashes the ball home, only to look up and see the offside flag raised.

    Heartbreak for the Hatters.

Oldham have snatched a late winner perhaps in the derby against Salford? Davis Kellior-Dunn striking to make it 2-1 in injury time.

Grimsby's Stefan Payne might just have denied Stevenage a first away win too... It's 1-1.
