There's now a break of a fortnight in the Women's Super League before teams return for the all-important run-in.

There will be a packed programme on Sunday 25 April including the aforementioned top-two tussle between Manchester City and Chelsea.

A couple of games before then to watch out for as West Ham take on Aston Villa in a crucial battle at the bottom on Tuesday 20 April (19:30 BST) and Villa then host Bristol City on Saturday 24 April (12:30 BST).

  2. Battle at the bottompublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 4 April 2021

After West Ham's 5-0 win over Reading on Saturday it wasn't a great day for any of the clubs in the bottom half.

Aston Villa remain rooted at the foot of the table after their 3-1 loss to Everton.

Bristol City similarly missed out on a chance to put some points on the board as they were hammered by Arsenal.

And losses for Birmingham and Tottenham against the top two will have both sides anxiously looking over their shoulders.

Chelsea 6-0 Birmingham, Tottenham 0-3 Man City

It's pretty much a matter of as you were at the top of the WSL table as leaders Chelsea and second-placed Manchester City both win easily.

Chelsea's was the more emphatic, with Sam Kerr's first-half treble and two from Fran Kirby helping them to a 6-0 thrashing of Birmingham.

Man City's victory was never truly in doubt, but they did not have things all their own way despite taking an early lead in their 3-0 win over Tottenham.

The next round of WSL fixtures on Sunday, 25 April pits City against Chelsea. Should be a lot of fun that one.

That was all pretty easy for Arsenal, with only some sensational goalkeeping by Sophie Baggaley stopping the visitors adding to their goal tally.

Vivaiane Miedema was outstanding, grabbing two goals as the Gunners make it five wins on the spin.

It's all over in Leicester where the Foxes have beaten London City Lionesses 2-0 to seal promotion to the Women's Super League.

The big question is, who will they replace in what looks a four-horse relegation battle with four clubs separated by four points at the foot of the WSL.

  19. GREAT SAVES!published at 88 mins

    Bristol City 0-4 Arsenal

A staggering couple of saves by Sophie Baggaley have denied Vivianne Miedema a hat-trick.

The City keeper somehow manages to get across her goal just in time to block the Arsenal striker's close-range effort.

And then a couple of minutes later Miedema is left bewildered as Baggaley turns her blasted effort past the post.

Baggaley has conceded four goals but has played a blinder.

Real urgency from Manchester United in the closing stages.

Brighton are five minutes away from beating the Red Devils for the first time in the WSL.
