    That's all from me.

But there's more live football to come, with Dundee v Hearts kicking off at 19:20. You can watch that on BBC Scotland and here on the BBC Sport website.

Then you catch all the Premiership highlights on Sportscene, which starts on BBC One Scotland at 22:20.

  2. Aberdeen 'lost control' - McInnespublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Aberdeen 0-0 Dundee United

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was disappointed with his side's second-half display.

"If we'd done the interview at half-time I'd have been pleased. I thought Dundee United were better second half, but we lost control of the game in terms of showing our poise and experience. We needed more crosses, shots, and more responsibility to make good decisions.

"We take the point, but I expect a lot more from us with the talent we had on the pitch."

On Ryan Hedges' penalty claim in the first half, McInnes said: "I've seen it again once at half-time, and it looked a penalty."

  3. 'A real sore afternoon for Hibs'published at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Hibernian 0-3 Livingston

It's been a thoroughly miserable post-Christmas period for Hibernian, with three defeats on the spin and no goals scored.

Following a limp defeat to Livingston, Hibs head coach Jack Ross tells BBC Scotland: "We defended poorly throughout the course of the game and we weren't anywhere near creative enough or fluid enough.

"In all aspects of the game we fell short. Our reaction to going behind wasn't good enough.

"There's no panic from us but equally we can't shy away from how poor we were. It's a real sore afternoon for us."

  4. 'Story of our season' - Davidsonpublished at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

FT: Ross County 1-1 St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson reflects on a "strange" match, saying: "We didn’t start very well, we started playing after we went a goal down.

"We have to take our chances in the second half, it’s disappointing not to score when we’re on top, but I’m also grateful for Zander’s save at the end to get us a point. It was a strange one.

"It’s been the story of our season [not taking chances] – we’ve been playing well. Heads aren’t going down despite a few poor results, we just need to get a few more points on the board."

  5. Goodwin hails spirit of tired playerspublished at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin felt his side deserved their late draw with Kilmarnock.

He tells BBC Scotland: "I don't think we were at our best, in fact we were very poor in the first half. We lacked a spark. I have to credit the players for keep going until the end of the game.

"I've not seen a goal like that [Danny Rogers own goal] for a long, long time. But we'll take it.

"It's been a real busy three weeks for the players and there seemed to be a lot of tired legs out there. I think it's our seventh game in three weeks."

  6. 'We have to make changes' - Lasleypublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Hamilton Academical 3-0 Motherwell

Motherwell caretaker manager Keith Lasley, perhaps understandably, did not want to speak about whether or not he wants the job permanently after a sobering 3-0 derby defeat.

"That was a poor afternoon," he tells BBC Scotland. "I asked for personality from the players to represent this football club and that was as far removed from representing this club as could be.

"We are in a tough spot and, with January coming up, we have to make changes. There are players in this team who feel passionately about the club and it is up to me to combine those with others who might do a better job.

"When the chips are down, we've not been able to respond and that's probably been the story for us all season.

"I was hoping for a better reaction and better result. I am gutted for the fans. We need to change the narrative of this season."

  7. 'It should have been over at half-time' - Dyerpublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 St Mirren

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer accepts the late St Mirren goal was over the line, despite his goalkeeper Danny Rogers being adamant it wasn't.

He tells BBC Scotland: "As far as I can see it is. I'm disappointed because the boys gave 100%. I thought it was quite comfortable in the game, so it is a sickener.

"He [Rogers] has been good for us this year, he's been excellent, but that goes down as a mistake. We had points in the bag and we've thrown them away.

"I'm not blaming Danny - if we put our chances away we win the game, it should have been over at half-time, we had good opportunities to put it to bed."

  8. 'Draw was a fair result' - Hughespublished at 17:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

FT: Ross County 1-1 St Johnstone

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, Ross County manager John Hughes says a draw was a "fair result" after it finished 1-1 with St Johnstone.

"We were the better team in the first half but second half it was all St Johnstone and it was backs against the wall, but we stood up to it," he said.

"You could see the spirit amongst them, the willingness, the togetherness to keep the door shut. There is plenty to build on.

"You have to embrace the hard work and I got that today. It makes us a very hard team to beat. There will be times when it’s backs against the wall and you don’t buckle. That gives me confidence going forward.

"You hang in the game and we could have won it 2-1. We are where we are for a reason but I’m seeing real progress.

"If we keep doing what we’re doing with that effort and that commitment, every team will know they’ve been in a game and that’s what I’m after. We don’t have to win every game, but every team we play will know they’ve been in a game. That’s the foundation we’re going to use."

  9. 'Everyone played their part' in Accies victorypublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Hamilton Academical 3-0 Motherwell

"Scoring three goals and keeping a clean sheet, I can't think of anything better," purrs contented Accies boss Brian Rice.

"I took the shackles off one or two of them today, asking them to get forward a bit more. Everyone played their part, everyone did their job to the best of their ability. That's the key, for me.

"I've identified two or three (possible new signings) from England, but it's very difficult, the Covid situation makes things awkward. And if the lads keep doing what they did today, it will be difficult to shift them."

  10. Livi 'aiming to stay in top six'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Hibernian 0-3 Livingston

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Scotland: "We came here with a wee bit of a game plan and I think it worked perfectly.

"They leave a lot of space in behind the centre-halves.

"We'd be really disappointed if you're sitting fifth and you were to finish outside the top six. Realistically, we've got to be aiming to try and stay in the top six."

  13. United 'well worthy' of a pointpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    FT: Aberdeen 0-0 Dundee United

Dundee United manager Micky Mellon: "We came here to win but Aberdeen are a terrific side and we respect that. All credit to the group, we were well worthy of a point and we had the better chances to win a hard fought game.

"Lawrence Shankland was excellent, he really had the bit between his teeth and young Lewis Neilson at 17 looked like he'd been playing there all season."

Asked about possible interest in goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist this month, Mellon says he has heard nothing and insists the club will "only do business that makes Dundee United better".

  14. Rangers take a huge step towards the titlepublished at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

Rangers were the big winners on the first round of fixtures of 2021, extending their lead at the top of the Premiership to a whopping 19 points after edging out closest rivals Celtic at Ibrox.

It was also a very good day for Hamilton Accies and Livingston.

Accies are up to 10th after thumping their local rivals Motherwell and Livi continued their marvellous form under David Martindale, sweeping sorry Hibs aside.

That's five league wins in a row for the West Lothian side, who are now fifth and will have Hibs and Aberdeen in their sights.

St Mirren snatch a point at the death thanks to that odd own goal from goalkeeper Danny Rogers.

  19. FULL-TIME Hamilton Academical 3-0 Motherwellpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

Keith Lasley's debut as Motherwell caretaker boss is a sobering one as his side drop to second bottom of the table after derby defeat.

Accies leapfrog their neighbours off the foot of the Premiership with a win that leaves Well without a victory in 10 games.

Goalkeeper Aaron Chapman looked a bit suspect as Lee Hodson opened the scoring before the break and Ross Callachan added the second.

Callum Smith's header ensured a fine win for Brian Rice's side that does little for Lasley's hope of keeping the job permanently.

  20. FULL-TIME Hibernian 0-3 Livingstonpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

A great start to 2021 for Livingston as they win for a seventh match in a row in all competitions and move fifth in the Scottish Premiership.

Josh Mullin, Jon Guthrie and Scott Robinson were on target for Livi's first win at Easter Road since 2005.

That's three defeats to nil on the bounce for Hibernian, who have a lot to mull over on a nine-day break until their next game against Celtic.
