  11. Dons aim to cement third placepublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

In terms of their league campaigns, Aberdeen and Dundee United will both be pretty happy with their lot so far.

The Dons – who have lost just one of their last 13 Premiership games - go into this afternoon’s clash between the sides as the current occupiers of third spot.

United, who are fifth, know a positive result would further reinforce their already legitimate top six credentials.

However, if they are to achieve that desired objective in the Granite City they will have to do something they haven’t managed in the league since the 15th of August – win on the road.

It’s not over, but 19 points... I can’t see Celtic clawing it back. This was a massive day in terms of the destination of the title and Rangers have got the job done.

  18. FULL-TIME Rangers 1-0 Celticpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

Rangers move a colossal 19 points clear at the top of the Premiership.

A moment of madness from the red-carded Nir Bitton was quickly followed by a Callum McGregor own goal as the visitors paid for not making their first-half pressure count.

Three derby wins on the trot for Steven Gerrard's side.

One last chance for Celtic? No, a great pass from Tom Rogic gets caught under the feet of Odsonne Edouard and Connor Goldson hoofs the ball away.
