GOAL - Chelsea 3-1 Lutonpublished at 74 mins

    Tammy Abraham

    And there is the hat-trick!

This is a superb goal, made and scored by Chelsea's young lads. Hudson-Odoi drives forward again down the left, plays a neat one-two with Billy Gilmour to get in to space in the box and fires a low cross that Abraham can't fail but put in the net from a yard out.

    That should be that.

Chelsea need a bit of magic, it's an opportunity for Callum Hudson-Odoi because Chelsea need energy.

    Chelsea 2-1 Luton

There was the big chance for Abraham to seal his hat-trick. Hudson-Odoi makes it with a driving run and chipped cross that is there to be headed in by his team-mate. He rises well enough but steers his effort past the post.

This is yet another pathetic performance from Chelsea. The team needs a complete shake up. Whatever Lampard/Morris is doing in training, it's not good enough ...

    Chelsea 2-1 Luton

Chelsea's first change sees Callum Hudson-Odoi replace Christian Pulisic, who looks to be struggling a bit.

Hudson-Odoi's first act is to chest down a cross at the far post and fire a shot that is blocked. Promising start.

    Chelsea 2-1 Luton

Werner wants a penalty. He feels he has been pulled back by Mpanza in the box. The Luton man looks to have just held his arm briefly. VAR has a gander. Nothing doing.

    Chelsea 2-1 Luton

Tammy Abraham hasn't been as involved this half as he was in the first. He gathers possession and swings a hopeful shot past the far post.

They've just shown a replay on BBC One of an incident from a few minutes ago, showing Pulisic going down in the box following a challenge from Bree. There was a bit of contact but personally I don't think it warranted a penalty. Then again, I'm not 100% sure what is and isn't a spot-kick anymore these days.

Dave Payn: Credit to Kepa. It was close to him but it was a lightning quick reaction for that save.

Chelsea living on the edge. A corner is nodded on and poked towards goal by Lockyer, but Kepa gets down low to save. The flag was up for offside, but the Blues didn't know that.

Harry Cornick has got to go low, it gives Kepa the chance to make the save. He has got to go lower across the keeper, and he gets a big left hand to it.

That was a big chance, they worked it well, chances are few and far between and you have to take them.

Nathan Jones sends on some fresh legs, making three changes to add to the one he made at half-time.

Luke Berry, Kazenga LuaLua and top-scorer James Collins are on for Ryan Tunnicliffe, James Bree and Harry Cornick, who just spurned that big chance.

    Kepa redeems himself.

Chelsea get in a right mess, with Reece James' poor control allowing Potts to set Luton on the attack. The ball is fed to Mpanzu, who then finds Cornick in the box. It is a golden chance and struck well but Kepa dives to push the shot away.

Luton won't get many opportunities and that was a big one.

The Robinsons: To those defending Kepa: We aren’t talking about someone who jumped between the sticks at Sunday league because the keeper is on holiday. This is the worlds most expensive keeper playing against Luton! Should be so much better... Like Havertz and Werner

Bradley Coombes: Even if Chelsea win here.. Not exactly convincing in their performance.. might put more pressure on Frank Lampard

Luton being late out after half time led to an absolutely smashing reference to Escape to Victory from Karen Carney. Great work.

    Jon in Norwich.

The Blues continue to push on. Mount picks up a loose ball in the box and sets up Pulisic for a shot that deflects wide.

The resulting corner doesn't yield anything but the home side continue to apply pressure until Ziyech sees a shot from range blocked.

  15. Postpublished at 57 mins

More positive stuff from Chelsea. Hatem Ziyech does really well to dart into Luton territory before holding the ball up to wait for reinforcements. Mason Mount is on the scene and picked out by his team-mate for a shot from the edge of the box that flies over the bar.

Surely the best option for Kepa is to send him out on loan somewhere. Out of the spotlight he can hopefully regather his confidence and form sufficiently that he can either return to us to resume his career, or else at least improve his re-sale value as he operates in a less pressured environment. It's painful watching the poor chap continue to flounder so much for us.

Abraham has been just a yard behind some truly brilliant balls in to the box in this game. He sets off at the back post a crucial fraction too late to steer in Hatem Ziyech's wicked low cross.

    Deserved better.

Better work from Kepa. He leaves his box to meet a long ball forward with his chest and prevent Harry Cornick getting hold of the ball.

Simon Sluga made the mistake for the second, but rectified it there with a fantastic block that keeps his side in this. Christian Pulisic has to score that, but credit to the goalkeeper for throwing his foot to that.

    Brilliant save from Sluga!

Chelsea open Luton up down the right with Ziyech backheeling to James for a slow cross that Pulisic looks certain to finish. He gets a goal-bound touch but Sluga sticks out a boot to prevent it going in.
