  2. 'It's hurting me... and the players' - Rosspublished at 19:50

    FT: St Johnstone 3-0 Hibernian

Hibernian head coach Jack Ross is at a loss to explain his side's second-half display.

"I'm angry in the manner we played in the final 35 minutes of the game. We give up the opportunity to get to a final far too meekly.

"Prior to that, for the first 35 minutes we were good. We didn't deserve to be behind at half-time but we were. We lost our way badly in the second-half, our reaction to conceding the second goal wasn't good enough.

"It's hurting me, and I would like to think it's hurting the players as much. You work hard to get here, and we've thumbed our nose at the opportunity to get to a final."

  3. Motherwell will 'look at' Polworth red cardpublished at 19:45

    FT: Aberdeen 2-0 Motherwell

Motherwell manager Graham Alexander tells BBC Scotland his club will potentially look at appealing against Liam Polworth's red card for "foul and abusive language".

He said: "My player said he did swear, but it was at the player who fouled him. Maybe it's been misinterpreted. We'll have to look at the official report and see if there's anything we can do.

"Even though the result didn't go our way I thought the team was excellent today.

"We've had some good opportunities from open play, hit the post, could have had a penalty. Despite the score, at half-time I was really pleased with the performance. After the red card we still tried to do the right things. We just couldn't get enough pressure around their goal to force an equaliser.

"But I'm so proud of the team today with everything they had to face, they faced it well."

  4. More from Davidsonpublished at 19:42

    FT: St Johnstone 3-0 Hibernian

More from St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson, who praised the work-rate of Shaun Rooney.

"One thing with Shaun is, he's lively," he said.

"He's great to have in the dressing room. His head didn't go down when he wasn't playing at the start of the season. He works extremely hard, and I think his performances at right centre-half have been excellent when Jason [Kerr] was out. He performed really well today and I'm glad he got the goal."

"Any team can win it. At the moment I'll enjoy tonight. I'm just delighted we managed to get through. Now we've a chance to win a trophy this season."

  5. 'We dug deep and got a result'published at 19:40

    FT: St Johnstone 3-0 Hibernian

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson is a happy man.

"Most of the time this season we've played well and conceded goals," he said on Sportsound.

"I thought Hibs were the better team first-half, especially for the first 35 minutes. We rode our luck a little bit. We dug deep and it allowed us to go and get a result.

Asked if they had targeted Hibs' at set-pieces after two goals, Davidson said: "They defend really well - it was just that aggression. We haven't scored many, it's something we've worked hard at improving."

I find it hard to see past Hibs. Hibs best level is significantly higher than St Johnstone's best level this season. St Johnstone haven't produced the sort of goal power Hibs have. If it goes to form Hibs win this and they might win this by a couple of goals.

Man of the match Shaun Rooney is "buzzing", on Sportsound: "Everybody played their part. I thought first-half was quite poor, but second-half we came out the traps quite well.

"We could've played a lot more football, we were hitting it long quite often. We're a big side, and we do need to get more goals from set-pieces, we work on it every Friday.

"Everybody dreams of playing in a cup final when they're a wee boy."

  19. Rooney shines for Saintspublished at 81 mins

    St Johnstone 3-0 Hibernian

Shaun Rooney, who scored St Johnstone's second goal, has proved a real thorn in Hibernian's side throughout this semi-final tie.

He's causing all sorts of problems when he receives possession wide right and cuts back inside: more than a few of the Hibs defenders will have twisted blood after trying to mirror Rooney's runs.
