But since then Motherwell have arguably been the better team with Tony Watt hammering a shot off the post, while they had a strong penalty shout when the referee appeared to miss Funso Ojo handle Sherwin Seedorf's shot.

  10. HALF-TIME Rangers 3-0 Ross Countypublished at 15:46

Rangers are en route to extending their lead at the top of the Premiership to 23 points - and you can't see a way back for shell-shocked County.

Poor marking allowed Ryan Kent and Filip Helander to head Steven Gerrard's side into a two-goal lead before a fine Joe Aribo finish.

They could even afford a missed penalty from James Tavernier as they established a lead they are unlikely to relinquish.

  11. Rangers 3-0 Ross Countypublished at 45 mins

Rangers continue to press for more goals and Ianis Hagi sends a drive fizzing a couple of fee over the crossbar, then the Romania midfielder has another effort blocked in front of goal.

  12. County's defending gives Yogi sore headpublished at 15:42

    Rangers 3-0 Ross County

A rugged centre-half in his day, County manager John Hughes will be dismayed to see Rangers score their opening two goals so easily.

Ryan Kent then Filip Helander [pictured] were given the freedom of Ibrox to head Steven Gerrard's side into what is now a commanding lead thanks to that third by Joe Aribo - and the marking was pretty poor for that one as well.

  13. Dons see change in fortunes?published at 15:38

    Aberdeen 1-0 Motherwell

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

It's been a frantic game so far, end to end stuff. Aberdeen have the lead, and after seeing that Tony Watt shot rebound off the post and into the arms of Joe Lewis, the Dons players may just be wondering if their luck is in this afternoon.

Referee Craig Napier has issued a number of yellow cards, so a few players will be walking a bit of a tightrope for the remainder of the game.

  14. goal

    Aribo

If it wasn't game over already, it is now.

Joe Aribo is flying down the wing, turns inside Charlie Lakin then Connor Randall and sends a curling drive into the far corner from 16 yards.

Rangers well on their way to a 23-point lead at the top of the table.

  15. Rangers 2-0 Ross Countypublished at 34 mins

Ross Laidlaw is looking uncertain in the County goal and takes two attempts to hold a Borna Barisic free-kick aimed low at the goalkeeper's near post.

  16. Pittodrie posers...published at 33 mins

    Aberdeen 1-0 Motherwell

Two big refereeing decisions at Pittodrie.

First, the man in the middle Craig Napier misses a handball in the box from Funso Ojo that could have given Motherwell a penalty.

Then Motherwell's Liam Polworth is perhaps fortunate to stay on the park after lashing out at Scott Wright - an incident the Dons man was bizarrely booked for.

  17. CLOSE!published at 30 mins

    Rangers 2-0 Ross County

County striker Oli Shaw fires a shot whistling narrowly wide of Allan McGregor's goal as the visitors look to force their way back into this game.

    Helander

Just after Oli Shaw is through one-on-one with Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor only to be flagged offside, County find themselves two behind.

As with the opening goal, Rangers' scorer finds himself unmarked in acres of space as centre-half Filip Helander rises to head home a Borna Barisic corner.

  19. Visitors threatenpublished at 25 mins

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

First attempt on goal from County as Callum Morris rises above his marker at the back post, but the centre-half's header is a couple of feet wide from close range.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 24 mins

    Aberdeen 1-0 Motherwell

It's blink and you'll miss it stuff at Pittodrie, and now it's Motherwell piling on the pressure.

Devante Cole and Tony Watt both have saves from inside the box, and then Declan Gallagher beats Ash Taylor to the ball at a free-kick and heads just over.

Funso Ojo then sells the jerseys, gifts away possession to Tony Watt, who drives forwards and cracks a shot off the post.
