  3. CLOSE!published at 51mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Bit of pressure from St Mirren.

Goalkeeper Max Stryjek then has to tip a cross over as it heads to the crossbar.

    Quote Message

It was a really good ball. Nicky Devlin isn't even in shot, and comes from nowhere. He's trying to hit it with the top of the foot with some cut spin, but just gets it wrong.

  5. Postpublished at 49mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Promising break for Livingston, although they seem to get away with a couple of fouls on the way.

Josh Mullin's cross to the back post finds Nicky Devlin in space, but the defender lashes wildly into the empty Hampden stands.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

St Mirren get the second half under way with much work to do if they are to prevent Livingston taking their place in the League Cup final against St Johnstone on 28 February.

  7. Change needed for Goodwin's sidepublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    HT: Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Quote Message

The game has been frenetic, but without much quality. I don't think St Mirren can continue as it is. Brandon Mason is a left-back by trade and isn't offering anything in attack on the left side of St Mirren's midfield. They have been too direct and too rushed, but Brophy is not going to win those balls and it's just breaking down

    HT: Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Livingston are not willing to let St Mirren settle on the ball and at no point have they looked comfortable. They are going long and that's just meat and drink to Guthrie and Ambrose at the back

  9. St Mirren 'must be ruthless'published at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    HT: Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

    Quote Message

Livingston are not a team who give away many chances, so St Mirren have to be ruthless when they get any. Livingston haven't created much either, but it is very much advantage to them

  10. HALF-TIME Livingston 1-0 St Mirrenpublished at 16:49 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Livingston are half way to an 11th game unbeaten - and their second League Cup final - thanks to Scott Robinson's early header.

They were rewarded for making a positive start to the game, after which St Mirren have been a disappointment.

Replays suggest, however, that the Paisley side should have had a penalty when Nicky Devlin kicked rival defender Joe Shaughnessy as he attempted a clearance.

  11. Time for Buddies change?published at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Jim Goodwin must be thinking about changes. I don't think Brandon Mason has worked. He looks better if he's coming onto the game rather than in an advance position. I wonder if Ilkay Durmus might come on if he wants to stay with this formation

  12. YELLOW CARD Holt (Livingston)published at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Livingston midfielder Jason Holt is the first player to be booked, but St Mirren are wasteful with the resulting free-kick.

They've still to threaten goalkeeper Max Stryjek.

  13. Postpublished at 39mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Dylan Connolly is through on goal after a lucky ricochet, but the St Mirren midfielder fails to find Eamonn Brophy with his attempted pass when he might have been better advised to try his luck on his own.

  14. Plenty of endeavourpublished at 16:41 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

I'm tired watching this. The only time they get a break is when the ball's in the keepers' hands. There is a feverishness about this Livingston team. They're giving St Mirren no space

  15. Postpublished at 35mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Pure determination as St Mirren huff and puff around the edge of the penalty box and Brandon Mason stabs it into the penalty box, but goalkeeper Max Stryjek is quick off his line to clear from the on-loan Coventry man.

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 31mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

St Mirren appeal for a couple of challenges both just outside and inside the penalty box after winning a free-kick, but referee David Munro is having none of it.

  17. Postpublished at 29mins

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

St Mirren are seeing more of the ball, but it is all rather flat and they aren't making any progress into the Livingston penalty box.

  18. Brophy toilingpublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Eamonn Brophy hooks a volley from the corner of the box, but it's well, well, well wide. St Mirren have improved but are yet to fashion a good opening.

  19. Buddies striker without companypublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

St Mirren just can't get a foothold in the game. Everything is so rushed. When they do win the ball, they're too quick to get it up to Eamonn Brophy - and he's isolated

  20. Robinson rebornpublished at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Livingston 1-0 St Mirren

Scott Robinson, who began his career at Hearts, took the step down to part-time football with East Fife but at 28-year-old is a man reborn.

The striker's sixth goal of the season - and fourth in the last six games - has Livingston in control at Hampden.
