  1. Late change for Prestonpublished at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Preston v Reading (12:30 GMT)

There's been a late change for Preston, who have had to bring in Joe Rafferty to the starting line-up at left-back because of an injury to Andy Hughes.

Kick off is just a few moments away. The teams are out at a chilly Deepdale.

Preston manager Alex Neil has gone with the "don't change a winning team rule", selecting the same side that beat Birmingham City 1-0 last time out.

Reading have only made the one change from the win over Coventry in their last match. This seems to be a partially enforced one though, with Michael Olise dropping to the bench after injuring his shoulder. Sone Aluko comes in.

Preston: Iversen, Browne, Huntington, Davies, Hughes, Whiteman, Ledson, Sinclair, Molumby, Potts, Jakobsen.

Subs: Fisher, Bayliss, Johnson, Gallagher, Rafferty, Ripley, Evans, Barkhuizen, O'Reilly.

Reading: Rafael Cabral, Holmes, Morrison, McIntyre, Richards, Rinomhota, Laurent, Aluko, Swift, Ejaria, Lucas Joao.

Subs: Tomas Esteves, Olise, Baldock, Gibson, Southwood, Semedo, Tetek, Onen, Camara.

So it's three wins from four for Reading. A fourth from five would do very nicely indeed and take the Royals up to 46 points, level with both third-placed Watford and Swansea, who are second.

Preston, who are hovering a few places outside the play-off spots will have other ideas. They can go eighth - just four points off the top six. Depending on your optimism scale and how you look to read stats, they have won three of their past five - or lost two of their previous three.

As well as our Championship double, there is also the small matter of the world's oldest domestic football competition - the FA Cup.

Chelsea take on Luton first up in a game which evokes the battles between strikers Kerry Dixon and Mick Harford of the 1980s. That's already underway. Both players wore the colours of both teams too, handily.

There are four other ties this afternoon too, and you can follow the lot by tapping/jabbing/clicking here.

With all the FA Cup excitement going on it would be easy to overlook two tasty Championship fixtures also taking place this afternoon.

Never fear, they're certainly not being overlooked here.

All four sides have promotion aims of varying degrees. Preston are among the 'aspirees' hoping to clamber into the mix, while their visitors Reading need points to cement their bid.

Middlesbrough under Neil Warnock are also in the pack, but Blackburn - under Boro legend Tony Mowbray - can still push themselves into the picture.

Hopefully we're all feeling as good as Reading's Lucas Joao does here? Strap in for two corkers from the second-tier.
