You don't lose that goalscoring touch - well not if you're Glenn Murray anyway.

The 37-year-old didn't score in a disappointing loan spell at Watford earlier this season but he's linked back up with former boss Chris Hughton and is back on the scoresheet.

Murray gets the wrong side of Wycombe centre-back Josh Knight and lobs brilliantly over Ryan Allsop to put Forest ahead.

    Wycombe 0-0 Nottm Forest

No side has scored fewer goals in the Championship this season than bottom of the table Wycombe, but they've started brightly.

Uche Ikpeazu has twice shot wide as the Chairboys look to test Brice Samba in the Forest goal.

  3. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 1-0 Brentfordpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    David Raya OG (3 mins)

What a pickle that is for Brentford and an immediate impact made by Neeskens Kebano for Middlesbrough.

Boro had forced the issue, got a corner and it was played short to Kebano to sweep into the box.

Brentford were pinned in their own six-yard box, goalkeeper David Raya came to meet the cross but it looked to spin off defender Ethan Pinnock and in. Goal 'awarded' to Raya.

Bees get an early shock. Boro in front.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Birmingham

Bournemouth sacked manager Jason Tindall in the week after one point from five games, with Jonathan Woodgate taking charge today - despite only joining the club as first-team coach this week.

He's given a debut to on-loan Southampton striker Shane Long.

David Brooks has just put in a lovely cross for the Cherries from a free-kick but no-one attacks the ball and it goes behind.

  5. goal

GOAL: Preston 0-1 Rotherhampublished at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Joe Rafferty OG (1 mins)

Rotherham continue their excellent form, but what a nightmare for Preston inside the FIRST MINUTE.

Freddie Ladapo scuffed a cross-shot to the left of the box, and the covering Joe Rafferty could only steer his header past a flat-footed Daniel Iversen and in.

The one early game in League Two has just finished where Exeter came from behind to beat Bradford in a thriller.

The visitors were 2-1 up at the break but goals from Ryan Bowman and Matt Jay from the penalty spot gave Exeter all three points.

The Grecians move up to third for the time being.

    Leagues One and Two

We'll bring you the best of the stories from Leagues One and Two as well this afternoon.

In the third tier, Doncaster against Oxford looks a decent game on paper, a meeting of two in-form teams.

Leaders Hull go to bottom side Burton, while Peterborough play Crewe in a tussle between two side with potential promotion hopes.

Into League Two, leaders Cambridge are at Barrow, a long way north for the Us.

Those are just a few highlights, but we'll bring you the big moments from L1 and L2 throughout the afternoon - wherever they come.

    Barnsley P-P Derby

One game in the Championship has already fallen foul of the weather, that's at Oakwell where Derby were at Barnsley.

In League Two, Mansfield-Forest Green, Salford-Bolton, Scunthorpe-Oldham and Southend-Walsall have also, shall we say, gone the journey.

  12. Can Wycombe stall Forest climb?published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

Wycombe v Nottm Forest (15:00 GMT)

    Uche IkpeazuImage source, Getty Images

There's not an awful lot comparatively between bottom side Wycombe and Nottingham Forest in the Championship table - 13 points - but in terms of form, the pair are miles apart.

Gareth Ainsworth's bottom-of-the-table Chairboys have played some great football at times this season but results so often have gone against them. They've won just one of the last 15 in the league.

Nineteenth-placed Forest are on an upturn, with one defeat in nine against Middlesbrough at home, although beating Coventry in midweek ended a three-game wait for a win in all competitions.

Chris Hughton can ease some of their ails by pulling the Reds clear of the bottom three.

  13. A mid-table scrappublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Luton v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Duane HolmesImage source, Getty Images

There's a proper mid-table scrap between Luton Town and Huddersfield Town at Kenilworth Road, where 13th plays 15th.

Neither side can full call themselves fully clear of the drop, with just six and seven points between them and Rotherham respectively.

However, there are plenty of sides below them also struggling, so a lot needs to go wrong to get sucked into that whirlpool.

  14. Millers hoping for a bit of 'Abracadabra'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Preston v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

    Michael SmithImage source, Getty Images

It was Steve Miller Band who recorded 'Abracadabra', and it's the Millers hoping to cast a magic spell on the Championship this afternoon.

Rotherham can make it three away wins in a row if they come up with the three points here at Deepdale, against a Preston side with one win in six.

It's a key time to come up with the points for the Millers, who are battling relegation, but also have reeled in some of the teams above them with their recent form - notably Birmingham who are just two points above them.

Preston don't want their season to just fade away, although talisman midfielder Ben Pearson and defender Ben Davies have both hopped it during the transfer window.

Everton's Anthony Gordon, Stoke City's Liam Lindsay and Liverpool's Sepp van den Berg have all come in on deadline day, as Alex Neil seeks to resurrect a promotion bid with just six points separating them from the play-offs.

  15. Rovers still eyeing play-offspublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    QPR v Blackburn (15:00 GMT)

    Adam ArmstrongImage source, Getty Images

Tony Mowbray's Blackburn had a little bit of a wobble over Christmas having really thrust themselves into the promotion mix, but have recovered form at a good time.

Thankfully for them, nobody has truly grabbed the campaign by the scruff of the neck and as such as host of clubs are in the hunt. If Adam Armstrong is firing - as he was against Luton for the first time in four games - then Rovers had a big advantage.

QPR are on a bit of a hot streak, with three wins from four and the return of Charlie Austin has been a big plus for them with a focal point up top.

Ilias Chair is always a bit of class too, the kind of gem to light up a gloomy, soggy February afternoon.

  16. Not quite the Lions' den at the momentpublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

Millwall v Sheff Wed (15:00 GMT)

Empty seats at the DenImage source, Getty Images

I think of all the teams really struggling for a lack of fans at the moment, Millwall must be the worst off, and I say that by virtue of their home record. No win in 11 at the Den, and no goals in the last three.

It's a far cry from the intimidating hostility of a normal home game at Cold Blow Lane. Teams are taking advantage of the empty stands, normally surging with energy and the famous Millwall roar.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday have recorded back-to-back league wins for only the second time this season coming into this one, as they bid to pull clear of the relegation places.

Their away form is little to shout about though, their midweek success down at Bournemouth was their first in 10 trips away from Hillsborough.

  17. Severnside greetingspublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

Bristol City v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

Cardiff and Bristol CityImage source, Getty Images

Recently-appointed Cardiff boss Mick McCarthy finally ends his run of fixtures against his former clubs with a bit of a derby to savour.

The team bus will cross the River Severn to take on a Bristol City side in a rivalry named after the waterway which splits them.

McCarthy's Bluebirds have drawn their past two games 2-2 and 1-1, so the smart punters will have taken 0-0 here no doubt.

Bristol City are hoping to foil that with a fifth straight win, boosting their play-off bid in the process. They were impressive in midweek against Brentford but just couldn't keep the lead.

If results go their way, victory could put them on the cusp of the top six.

  18. Woodgate's whirlwind weekpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Bournemouth v Birmingham (15:00 GMT)

Jonathan Woodgate takes a training session at BournemouthImage source, Getty Images

What a week or so it's been for Jonathan Woodgate.

He only rocked up at Bournemouth to help out a week or so ago, but when Jason Tindall got the axe, the former Boro gaffer was thrust into interim duties.

His job is to halt the Cherries' slide, after four straight defeats, and without Josh King after he was sold to Everton on deadline day. They do have Shane Long available though, and tigerish midfielder Ben Pearson who has arrived from Preston.

On paper, Birmingham City are the ideal team to jumpstart your season against, with one win in 11 and just two points off the bottom three.

However, boss Aitor Karanka has been busy in the transfer market, signing Sam Cosgrove, Keyendrah Simmonds and Yann Valery as the window closed. Will it help turn things around at the Blues?

  19. Rampant Royals eye out-of-form Potterspublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Stoke v Reading (15:00 GMT)

    Lucas JoaoImage source, Getty Images

Right now, Reading are as slick and smooth as their Serb boss Veljko Paunovic's command of English, honed while boss of Chicago Fire in the MLS.

He's certainly speaking the right language to striker Lucas Joao this season, as the former Sheffield Wednesday hitman has nine in his past 10 games, helping the Royals climb to fourth in the Championship.

Michael O'Neill's Stoke City can still consider themselves among the chasers for a play-off spot, but their downturn in results since climbing to fifth in December has seen them lose ground.

One win in 13, and no wins in nine see them in 10th, but just four points off the top six. In this league, so congested and concertina-ed as it is, a few wins can quickly propel you into contention.

  20. Blunt Yorkshireman or methodical Dane?published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2021

    Middlesbrough v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

Neil Warnock and Thomas FrankImage source, Getty Images

In some respects the blunt-speaking Yorkshireman Neil Warnock and methodical Dane Thomas Frank are a world apart in terms of managerial styles, but there's a respect between the two for their achievements.

Middlesbrough boss Warnock was happy to call Brentford the best side in the division in the build up to this match, no doubt hoping to create an 'underdog' mentality within his group which served them well in their recent draw with Norwich - a game in which the Canaries attack was well and truly locked in the cage.

Bees boss Thomas Frank was complimentary of that approach, the ability to stop teams playing. He will need the character of the midweek win over Bristol City to give them belief, with several key first-teamers unavailable.

Avoiding defeat would make it 20 games unbeaten in a row. Warnock will have that record well and truly in his sights.
