It was a rather snowy finish to our EFL live tonight wasn't it, as the chill set in - particularly in the Championship.

It's just got a lot cooler for Doncaster too, at Fleetwood, where they trail 2-1 thanks to Paddy Madden's goal. That one kicked off at 19:45 GMT and you can keep abreast of the score using our latest scores box - click the drop down and select League One.

Let's hope the weather improves over night for Reading versus Brentford in the second tier.

    Until then. Good night.

    Rotherham 1-2 Cardiff

Cardiff City continue their revival under Mick McCarthy with a fourth game unbeaten and a second win in a row with victory over Rotherham.

Sheyi Ojo gave them the lead in an entertaining game before Matt Crooks tucked in an equaliser.

Once the snow came it threatened to spoil it as a contest, but Cardiff found the priceless winner amidst it when Joe Bennett connected with a Josh Murphy cross late on in the white-out and it was enough to settle it.

Rotherham's impressive run takes a dint, but credit to the visitors - a fine display.

    Rotherham 1-2 Cardiff

Millers get the ball into the box for Freddie Ladapo with his back to goal, but the striker cannot turn on it and is smothered in the end.

Rotherham then look to get Matt Crooks in behind but Cardiff slug it away to safety.

Job done for Sheffield Wednesday as the game at Hillsborough ends in heavy snow.

Goals in each half from Jordan Rhodes and a deflected Adam Reach strike take Wednesday out of the drop zone.

Wycombe remain stranded at the bottom and 12 points from safety.

Six minutes of added time at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Rotherham can't make it stick though in the South Yorkshire whiteout.

    Rotherham 1-2 Cardiff

Rotherham pump the ball into the Cardiff box but there's a belief, a confidence about the visitors with their 2-1 lead.

Not even Lewis Wing can wrap a shot at goal as it pinballs on the edge of the box and captain Sean Morrison slings away for the Bluebirds.

What a funny old night it's been for the highfliers in League Two?

Cambridge hammered earlier, Tranmere losing at home to strugglers Stevenage, that goal from Danny Newton putting Boro ahead on the Wirral.

Newport losing too of course against Southend.

    Sheff Wed 2-0 Wycombe

Time is running out for Wycombe to salvage anything.

Five minutes plus stoppages to go and Sheffield Wednesday look comfortable since that fortuitous second goal.

  12. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 1-2 Cardiffpublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Joe Bennett (84 mins)

Fine goal in worsening conditions, brilliant finish by Joe Bennett who converts after Josh Murphy pinged in a flat-trajectory cross to the back-post.

Headed in, the full-back had galloped forward and might just have nicked the three points for Mick McCarthy who is looking for back-to-back wins.

Some revival from the gruff Yorkshireman.

  13. Postpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Rotherham 1-1 Cardiff

Keeping balance is proving pretty difficult for the players at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

It's a bit like watching the novice group at your local ice rink. Harry Wilson took one such tumble in the box but it's waved away by Geoff Eltringham.

  14. Postpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Rotherham 1-1 Cardiff

Marlon Pack curls in a free-kick which is cleared by Rotherham, and the volley from Will Vaulks is not worthy of the phrase: "shot on goal".

The snow is not helping visibility but you sense the players will battle through with just 10 to go. Horrendous snow fall, even the yellow ball is lost in the flurry.

    It's orange ball time! Woohoo!

Well, yellow ball. That's how much snow has fallen.

Southend have lost the past four but they lead in the second-half against high-flying Newport County, on a boggy pitch at Rodney Parade.

Tom Clifford getting the goal for the Shrimpers, curling in from the 22 via a deflection. It's a ground the home side share with the Dragons rugby union club.

    Adam Reach (76 mins)

Huge slice of luck, but it's game over.

Wycombe manage to block a shot from Kadeem Harris, the ball bounces out to Adam Reach about 20 yards from goal and his low shot takes a MASSIVE deflection off Anthony Stewart and into the centre of the net.

Wanderers goalkeeper Ryan Allsop was completely wrongfooted.

    Rotherham 1-1 Cardiff

String of corners for Cardiff putting pressure on the Rotherham defence.

In fact, one wickedly-swinging cross to the far post was cleared off the line by a diving Matt Crooks.

    Scored one, saved one.

Not the best debut for Marcus Maddison. He's been sent-off for Bolton. The Trotters are leading Morecambe. Crunched Aaron Wildig in midfield.

Walsall and Mansfield have shared the points tonight, it's finished 1-1 there.

  20. League One latestpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

Big goal for Shrewsbury, as Blackburn loanee Harry Chapman volleys in from close range after Shaun Whalley swung in a cracking cross to the back-post.
