    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff turn the screw at the other end as Will Vaulks causes another moment of panic with a beast of a throw - missile-like.

Pressure on the Rotherham goal. Eventually the ball is hoiked away to safety. Wouldnt drop for the visitors.'

GOAL: Sheff Wed 1-0 Wycombepublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Jordan Rhodes (34 mins)

That's a classic Jordan Rhodes finish.

Adam Reach sends in a deep cross from the left, it goes over everyone and reaches Kadeem Harris who dinks the ball back into the centre of the box.

Rhodes climbs and guides a header into the corner. Cool and composed. 1-0 to the hosts.

  4. CLOSE!published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Brilliant save by Dillon Phillips, though from there Michael Smith will feel he should have scored.

Ball was curled in by Dan Barlaser and Smith rose highest to plant his header at goal, but Phillips got a strong hand to it to tip over.

Michael Ihiekwe then smashed into the side-netting.

Equally good stop from Viktor Johanssen at the other end, getting down well to deny Kieffer Moore's low drive from the edge of the box.

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Rotherham purring now and playing with confidence.

Matthew Olosunde had a shot blocked after latching onto a deep cross into the Cardiff box, and it broke to Lewis Wing who dragged his shot wide.

Then a penalty appeal after Michael Smith was challenged by Curtis Nelson and toppled like a chainsaw-ed oak tree. Plenty of shouts but no call from referee Geoff Eltringham.

Could do with a few more goals to warm the cockles. Still goalless in both Championship games with 30 minutes gone.

League One Sunderland are 1-0 in front at Shrewsbury, after Charlie Wyke slipped in Aiden O'Brien to score.

Not many goals in League Two, Cheltenham's early goal at Harrogate and the two at Walsall, the only strikes to show so far.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Another surging run from Michael Smith for Rotherham results in a sizzler from the edge of the box which has Dillon Phillips sprawling to claw away.

It's banged behind, and the result corner was viciously swung under Phillips' crossbar but he punched it away and gets a free-kick for his trouble after pressure.

Rotherham flexing their muscles a bit here as tempers flare.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Wycombe

Sheffield Wednesday forward Callum Paterson has been in decent scoring form under interim boss Neil Thompson.

He almost adds another to his tally but his powerful 20-yard strike is well saved by Ryan Allsop.

At the other end Anis Mehmeti almost gets onto Daryl Horgan's cross but he can't connect under pressure from Owls defender Kadeem Harris. Did Harris clip him there? Should that have been a penalty to Wycombe?

    Mehmeti looks furious.

Plymouth have beaten Accrington in League One, Niall Ennis with the only goal to make it a long but happy journey home from Lancashire for the Devonians.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Wycombe

Owls midfielder Barry Bannan has the first meaningful attempt of the match, but his effort from just outside the box is deflected over.

No real pattern to the game at a sub-zero Hillsborough with 20 minutes gone.

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Rotherham fluff their defensive lines trying to clear a Cardiff corner.

Ben Wiles air-kicks a clearance and Perry Ng drills his shot low, forcing Viktor Johanssen to drop down and make the save.

At the other end, a driving run and shot from Michael Smith for Rotherham zips just wide of the post.

    It's opening up.

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

A lovely lofted ball from Dan Barlaser is clipped into the Cardiff box, and it breaks to Rotherham striker Michael Smith on the edge of the six-yard box, but the ball just won't drop for the forward and it's smuggled clear.

That was a very good chance. Just couldn't get the shot off.

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Set-piece opportunity goes Rotherham's way but after Dan Barlaser dinked the cross to the back-post, Michael Smith climbed over the back of his marker and gave away a free-kick.

    Chance passes.

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Rotherham have tested out Cardiff's defensive mettle, with the direct running of Ben Wiles resulting in a snapshot blocked.

Matty Crooks and Michael Smith have combined a couple of times, but the three-man defensive unit of the Bluebirds has largely been untroubled.

Some early goals in League One to tell you about.

Ronan Curtis has tucked Portsmouth in front at home to Swindon. Just eight gone at Fratton Park.

Matt O'Riley has been a good signing for MK Dons and gets his second goal of the season to give the Dons the lead at Rochdale.

James Norwood has opened the scoring for Ipswich at Peterborough to break the deadlock. Nowood half-volleying in from the left of the box. Nice finish.

And Max Melbourne has put Walsall in front at home to Mansfield.

    All 1-0 in those games.

  20. Postpublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Rotherham 0-0 Cardiff

Bit of early pressure from Cardiff, all stemming from a monster throw by ex-Miller Will Vaulks into the Rotherham box.

The ball wasn't cleared convincingly, the ball sailed to Kieffer Moore in the box but his touch took him wide of goal and Joe Bennett's centre was nodded away.

    Lively from the visitors.
