Forest's Anthony Knockaert is ripe for having his legs taken off him at the moment with a series of little showboatey touches in midfield.

No-look pass? Yep. Little flick round the corner? Yep. Ridiculous touch off? Yep.

Derby get down the Forest left and Lee Buchanan puts in a cross which is dealt with.

Forest pipping the ball about in midfield in matador-like fashion in reply. They have found some swagger.

Lee Gregory and Louie Sibley coming on. Was just thinking they need more support for either Colin Kazim-Richards or Martyn Waghorn, however they decide to play it.

Forest break down the right and again Anthony Knockaert and Cyrus Christie combine.

The cross sweeps back-post where James Garner gets a firm header on it, straight at Kelle Roos.

Very good from Anthony Knockaert in the heart of midfield as he stands up Kamil Jozwiak and pinches the ball off him.

Forest go left and the ball is swung into the box, picking out the supporting Knockaert on the right but his shot is smuggled behind.

Colin Kazim-Richards heads away, the Frenchman has a third moment for Forest but Nathan Byrne outmuscles him for a goal-kick.

Derby winning a flurry of free-kicks. The first is cleared by Tobias Figueiredo.

Lee Buchanan is clattered by Glenn Murray, and a second is again pumped in.

Graeme Shinnie picks out Matt Clarke who booms a header back across goal but Jason Knight's connection sails wide of the post.

He and Martyn Waghorn were queueing up there.

Anthony Knockaert pulls out the party-piece shimmy of feet to get away from two Derby markers and plays in Cyrus Christie down the right.

The Republic of Ireland full-back hammers a cross across the box, might he have tried to catch out Kelle Roos near post? We'll never know.

Colin Kazim-Richards goes close for Derby from an acute angle... his shot drifts across the face of goal and out.

It all came from static midfield play from Forest, with Derby able to work the ball between the lines to Jason Clarke, and his pass released Kazim-Richards.

Forest survive.

Derby pour forward with Max Bird but his attempted pass inside to Kamil Jozwiak is cut out and cleared.

In turn, Forest attack the left wing but Yuri Ribeiro's header is guided away by Andre Wisdom.

Yuri Ribeiro saunters forward down the left for Forest and plays a one-two but is robbed by Martyn Waghorn, who concedes the throw.

Max Bird makes a key intervention in midfield as Forest lift the ball into the melee, and Derby build from the back again.

Forest's press then almost gets them in as Matt Clarke has the ball pinched by Anthony Knockaert but the ball just fizzes through to Kelle Roos in time.

Armed with the confidence of a 1-0 lead, Forest push the ball forward and call Derby's bluff, with Nathan Byrne opting for a safety-first approach by clearing into the stands.

Anthony Knockaert is fouled a long way out, and James Garner tries a first-time shot to catch out Kelle Roos. It's well, well wide.

David Marshall is already back in the stands in his tracksuit. Ruefully.

At times this lacked all the ingredients of a derby but the heat levels definitely rose.

Derby need to hit the reset button, rediscover their rhythm and belief. Wayne Rooney and his coaching staff will be preaching calm but wanting more.

For Forest, the break probably came while they had hit their right gear and they'll have to slip right back into that groove. That said, it'll be a happy Chris Hughton after a mixed opening quarter.
