1. Four changes for Livi, no recognised striker for Donspublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

    Livingston v Aberdeen (15:00)

Livingston boss David Martindale made four changes in midweek and it didn't unsettle the side at all, with his men stretching their unbeaten run to 12 games with a late 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

This afternoon he shuffles the pack again with another four alterations.

In come Efe Ambrose, Julien Serrano, Craig Sibbald and Scott Robinson.

Out go Jack Fitzwater, Josh Mullin, Alan Forrest and Gavin Reilly.

The big news for Aberdeen is that they start without a recognised striker. Sam Cosgrove is not in the squad ahead of his imminent move to Birmingham City, while Curtis Main is injured. Bruce Anderson, the only fit forward in the squad, begins on the bench.

Rangers-bound Scott Wright has also been dropped from the side that drew 0-0 with St Johnstone as manager Derek McInnes makes two changes.

Greg Leigh starts, as does Connor McLennan who this week signed a contract extension until 2023.

  2. McKay can rise to big task at Celtic - Dempsterpublished at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

    Celtic v St Mirren (15:00)

It was announced yesterday that Dominic McKay is to replace long-serving Peter Lawwell as Celtic chief executive at the end of the season.

McKay is swapping the Scottish Rugby Union for Celtic Park and Leeann Dempster, now running the show at ambitious Queen's Park after spells at Motherwell and Hibs, says he was "the obvious choice".

"He has done a tremendous job at the SRU," she told Off The Ball.

"Football and rugby are obviously very different and, although Celtic remain strong, if they don't go on to win the league this season, there is obviously a big reset required and he is going to come in at a time when he is going to have a lot of work to do.

"It will be a rude awakening, let's not pretend. You are at one of the biggest clubs in the UK and there is a massive expectation, but I think Dom can rise to that."

  3. Former star jokes about Clyde returnpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

At least, we think he's joking - or are Clyde going to trump everyone by landing the biggest signing of the month?

Steve Archibald certainly knew where the back of the net was, having been capped 27 times for Scotland and leading the line at the likes of Barcelona and Tottenham.

The 64-year-old last turned for Clyde in 1992, having started his career with the Bully Wee back in 1974. Not too late for a third spell though...

  4. Only a few days left in transfer windowpublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

The January transfer window closes in Scotland on Monday at 23:00 GMT.

There are a few potential moves rumbling at the moment, with Aberdeen's Sam Cosgrove talking to Birmingham City and some interest in Hibs duo Kevin Nisbet and Ryan Porteous, who are both on the bench today which is sure to set tongues wagging.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said he hopes to bring "one or two" in.

Ross County have been very busy as usual for this time of year but it's been pretty quiet generally, with budgets decimated this season.

  10. The Scottish Premiership show rolls onpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2021

Good afternoon. Today was meant to be the third round of the Scottish Cup but the temporary pause on the lower leagues put paid to that.

Instead, the Premiership has rescheduled four matches, so we can maintain our regular football fix.

Runaway leaders Rangers get a rare weekend off and bottom side Hamilton Academical are also idle, but there's still plenty going on.
