Decide for yourself if Lewis Ferguson's effort for Aberdeen was over the line and whether Celtic's penalty was justified - and if their third goal was offside.

So many talking points for the pundits to mull over.

Leaders Rangers will be looking to restore their 23-point gap over Celtic as they host in-form St Johnstone, while Motherwell entertain Dundee United in a match-up of two sides who are having their struggles at the moment.

Meanwhile, there is a big game at the foot of the table as bottom side Hamilton host Ross County, who sit one point and one place above them.

Kilmarnock interim manager James Fowler tells BBC Scotland: "There were parts of the performance we can be happy with, but if you lose four goals, you have to be honest enough to say defensively we weren't good enough at times.

"Certainly, the second goal isn't a penalty. When you speak to the fourth official and he says the referee and assistant are having a discussion, I think that tells its own story. Usually they know these things instantly. And the third - it looks really tight in terms of offside."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Scotland: "I got the reaction I wanted. It was totally night and day from the performance at the weekend.

"We should kick on from this. I'm looking for far more consistency in the next few months.

"The league may be beyond us, but we've got a lot of big games to come, we've got a cup competition and we need to finish the season strongly for the supporters.

"If we play like that, it'll take a good team to stop us now."

Livingston manager David Martindale says his side's first win at Pittodrie since 2004 "shows how far they have come as a club".

"It’s probably one of the proudest moments I’ve had with the boys," he says. "I thought they were brilliant, I was really proud of them tonight, they were absolutely fantastic.

"The two goalkeepers never had much to do. The conditions didn’t lend itself to playing pretty football at times. We got a quick two goals and the dynamic of the game changed.

"Our aspirations are definitely top six. With a wee bit of luck, and injury-free and suspension-free, who knows what can happen?"

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes says Lewis Ferguson's second-half strike was over the line and should have been given as a goal but lamented his side's poor start to the game.

"Such a poor first half," he says. "The first goal totally changes the complexion of the game. It’s such a poor goal to lose – another mistake.

"From then, we looked nervy in that period. To lose a second one, uncharacteristically from us, was disappointing.

"Second half, we were much better. We should get a goal – the ball was clearly over the line. That goal would have been very important to us, but the first-half performance did us in.

"I don’t need to see the replay, you just know when a ball is over the line and that was clearly over the line. It’s such an important incident. The referee has to be helped by his linesman."

Hibernian head coach Jack Ross tells BBC Sportsound: "The only real moment of slackness in the game resulted in the concession of the goal.

"After that, it become more anxious than it should've been. But overall I'm really pleased with the result and the performance.

"We are third, so you are only there if you are a good side. We've had bumps along the way. At this stage of the season, it's just about grinding out wins."

Striker Kevin Nisbet was a substitute after a failed transfer bid from Birmingham and Ross says: "He had an impact on the game. He looked lively and bright - and that’s reflective of where his mind is at."

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound: "11 v 11, we were the better team. We were well on top in terms of controlling possession."

However, the Buddies lost goalkeeper Jak Alnwick to a red card.

"From that moment on against a good Hibs team, you’re going to be up against it," he says. "If we kept 11 men on the park, I don’t think we would’ve lost the game.

"Credit to the players, they never gave up. They didn't throw the towel in. We still fancied ourselves at 2-1."

The two sides went into this with their own troubles, but it is Kilmarnock who are left with the bigger headache after a comprehensive defeat.

Celtic move to within 20 points of Rangers with a game in hand as they recover from that home defeat by St Mirren.

Having lost their manager on Saturday, Kilmarnock stay ninth, five points ahead of bottom side Hamilton Academical but having played two more games.

A Scott Brown header, an Odsonne Edouard penalty followed by another goal from the Frenchman then a rare goal from Albian Ajeti secured Celtic's win.

Kilmarnock are still bravely pushing forward and goalkeeper Scott Bain does well to punch clear an Alan Power cross then Mitch Pinnock fires low and just past the post.

Zeno Ibsen Rossi has two goes at grabbing a goal back for Kilmarnock.

The on-loan Bournemouth defender has a header deflected wide and, from Mitch Pinnock's corner, rises in the six-yard box but heads straight at goalkeeper Scott Bain.

That's the icing on the cake for Celtic.

Big-money summer signing Albian Ajeti has not scored since 27 September, but this time he holds off Zeno Ibsen Rossi and fires past goalkeeper Colin Doyle.

Kilmarnock 0-3 Celtic

Kristoffer Ajer is down holding his ribs after running into the rugged frame of Alan Power.

However, the Celtic defender manages to carry on.

It's petering out as a contest. Without a manager, Kilmarnock look like a rudderless outfit and it is difficult to assess how good a performance this is from Celtic in the circumstances.

It is interesting to see Celtic looking comfortable, something that was taken for granted for so long. It’s been too long for their support as 10 league titles in a row drifted into the distance.

They have played well tonight, but It does appear that they have benefitted from favourable decisions. Albian Ajeti seemed to go down a bit too easily for the penalty and Odsonne Edouard looked a touch offside for the third.

Celtic will take anything right now, but for Kilmarnock that must be frustrating. They will be equally frustrated at not really laying a glove on this, the latest version of an ever-changing Celtic back-line that needs some stability.

The home side have had one or two moments but not much else. Things are getting increasingly worrying for them.

For Celtic, they have to keep winning and pray for the mother of all miracles. However unlikely.
