Disappointed if Spurs lose, but football is the winner.

I always have this strange feeling that the level of excitement you get from english games has declined over the years. This is an epic reminder of what we have missed

God I'm sick of these boring games like Everton Spurs - can we just have a bit of action please.

Half chance for Harry Kane but his header falls wide. Everton can see the finishing line. Around one minute of extra-time left plus stoppages.

Kev: I don’t think it matters who gets through here, neither side will beat City.
Don't be a spoil sport, Kev.
Everton 5-4 Tottenham
Tottenham are running out of time and they're throwing everything at this. Pin-ball as Son Heung-Min tries to pick out a white shirt in the six-yard area. There are screams of frustration as its cleared.

Kane's lashes the ball into a blue wall and there's chaos inside the Everton penalty area before it's finally scrambled clear.
TV replays show the free-kick hits Tom Davies' upper arm. That was not a penalty.

Mason Holgate goes in hard on Carlos Vinicius. It's a free-kick to Tottenham in scoring range. Harry Kane is standing over the ball.
This from November 2004 has not aged well for the Spurs boss...
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has launched a scathing attack on title rivals Arsenal by claiming their defenders are a "disgrace".
Referring to Arsenal's 5-4 win over Spurs, Mourinho said: "Five-four is a hockey score, not a football score.
"In a three-against-three training match, if the score reaches 5-4 I send the players back to the dressing rooms as they are not defending properly.
"So to get a result like that in a game of 11 against 11 is disgraceful."

Ten minutes for Spurs to find an equaliser. Incredible work-rate from Everton's players. They're not giving the visitors time to settle on the ball.

Just got in from a late shift. Have I missed anything?

Just the nine goals so far, Steve.

So close to 6-4 - and game, set and match. A lovely free-kick delivery from Gylfi Sigurdsson finds Michael Keane who heads just wide.
Everton 5-4 Tottenham
Gylfi Sigurdsson's eyes light up as he drives forward unchallenged and lets fly - Hugo Lloris gets down to save.
Another Everton change. Mason Holgate is on for Lucas Digne who looks like he has taken a knock.

Isn't this what Jose Mourinho used to call a hockey score? He used to sneer and snarl at scorelines like this. But it's brilliant to watch - as a Spurs player you're probably wondering what's happened - they've played well and they're 5-4 down!

Fifteen minutes for Spurs to find an equaliser.
Everton 5-4 Tottenham
Jose Mourinho has seen his team concede five goals in a game for the first time since January 2015, when his Chelsea side were beaten 5-3 by Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs in the Premier League.

Advantage Everton.
Everton 5-4 Tottenham
No serious sign of a Tottenham response since they fell behind. There are some tired legs out there in white shirts.
Everton 5-4 Tottenham
Manchester United against West Ham seems a long, long, time ago. This has been five-star entertainment. Both teams deserve credit for contributing to a classic.

Steven Broadbent: So happy for Bernard... almost shipped out to play in Dubai for Al-Nasr. Talented footballer with so much skill, hope Carlo starts trusting him now.
babyboomer: The tie of the round. The best match this year. The best cup tie of the decade. The best cup tie of the 21st century.
Strong words, there.

Do Everton bring down the shutters or keep attacking? Carlo Ancelotti has a big decision to make.
