Heroic at either end from Tammy Abraham. Chelsea send on Mateo Kovacic for Christian Pulisic who has not been the same player since his injury in last season's final has he?

Kepa doesn't really deal with but what about that for a clearance off the line? Abraham is straining everything to get it off the line.

  4. CLOSE!published at 78 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Barnsley go close! Kepa doesn't cover himself in glory coming for a free-kick and not getting there, Michael Sollbauer pokes in a shot and Tammy Abraham climbs brilliantly to head it over his own bar.

  5. 'Barnsley not asking as many questions'published at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2021

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Newcastle and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The subs will hopefully freshen it up and get Barnsley going again. They have come off the pace. It has been a lot more comfortable and easier for Chelsea in this second half. Barnsley haven't asked as many questions or won the ball back as high as they did first half.

Look at Barnsley's work-rate - that's why Chelsea have got keep popping the ball around.

Someone at BBC Sport has a go at drawing the VAR-style lines for that Chelsea goal and they suggest that Tammy Abraham was actually not offside when he opened the scoring. Clear as mud.

  8. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Tino Anjorin's first touch is a beauty and his pass looks good but is just overhit. Give him a seven-year deal and then send him on loan to the world.

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Lovely touch from Callum Hudson-Odoi to chop inside his man but his final shot is well over the top. Never got it under control.

Barnsley make a couple more changes as Jordan Williams and Romal Palmer come on for Herbie Kane and Callum Brittain.

  10. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Barnsley are yet to get going in the second half to be honest. They have 20 minutes to find some form again.

Ben: Potentially offside goal, revenge for the non-penalty. No complaining.

Carl Arrowsmith: Barnsley have been hard done by there

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Still a quarter of this match left, Chelsea aren't through yet.

Hakim Ziyech is now brought off with 19-year-old Tino Anjorin on in his place.

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle

We know they have that in their locker, the way they move the ball so quickly. James had had a clear run down that right side and it is a simple tap in. I thought at first a flag might go up but it hasn't. It is close but there is no VAR here. Chelsea using their 'get out of jail free' card.

The space James has, picks out his man and it's a tap-in for Abraham. That goal has come just in the nick of time.

  15. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea

Was there a call for an offside there? Yes, Tammy Abraham looks offside to me when he tapped that cross in.

That's a goal that could have been chalked off and a penalty that would have been given if we had VAR.

    Tammy Abraham (64 mins)

Send Giroud out to warm up and Tammy Abraham will score!

It's all about Billy Gilmour though whose pass out to Reece James on the right is a beauty. Cuts Barnsley in half and James just waits, takes his time and squares it at the perfect time to allow Abraham a tap-in.

Charles Fairweather: Chelsea under the cosh, too slow in build up. Time for Tuchel to show the tactical nuance he was brought in to do because how is this football any different from Lampard's side

It's a decent delivery but Rudiger gets ahead of the ball - he should be hitting the target.

  20. CLOSE!published at 62 mins

    Barnsley 0-0 Chelsea

And from that free-kick Chelsea go close. As close as they have all night.

Hakim Ziyech's ball in is a good one and Antonio Rudiger flicks the header wide of the near post.
