Barnsley have been so organised, brilliant to watch, squeezing up. Chelsea have been sloppy. It's been a great game for Barnsley so far.

You have to imagine Chelsea will be a different side after the break. They have been very disappointing. They've not been up for the battle, not moved the ball quick enough, not enough options. Barnsley have been on the front foot and are right up for this.

It could have been 2-0 to Barnsley going in at half-time. I have to say, I have been really impressed. It is whether they can sustain it? The subs might be key.

I'm looking at Thomas Tuchel and he is telling a few players to warm up. I'm not surprised. A few of the Chelsea players haven't turned up.

But I want to give Barnsley all the credit.

"It requires improvement. It requires better decisions and it is our job to improve our players. On Sunday we are going to face Southampton again and we need to give them a better fight."

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl told BT Sport: "It was deserved, I think. We had a good performance today.

"It is a little bit easier when you have more alternatives from the bench and that gives us more chances to pick a strong side.

"Today we had a good side on the pitch and the guys did a good job. We still tried to be patient and find the gaps. The longer the game was going the more chances we had. We had the bigger chances so it was absolutely deserved."

Christian Pulisic was involved in the build up, a nice ball that he threaded through then he raced into the box but he could not quite get onto it.

Chelsea have had 72% of the ball but it doesn't really feel like that. Barnsley been just as dangerous, if not more so.

Better form Chelsea, who get it out wide. Callum Hudson-Odoi has acres and pings in a cross on the run, it's over the head of Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic arrives on it but can't steer it on goal. Difficult skill.

Good play from Barnsley, switching it from right to left quickly but first class defending from Alonso.

It's not been the start we were expecting from Chelsea - not dominating, and not really clicking.

Barnsley have had a good run of managers with a settled system and they're good to watch. After a shaky 10 minutes or so they are now once again piling pressure on the Chelsea backline.

The protocol is that VAR is only in operation in the FA Cup when the game is played at the home of a Premier League team...
