FT: Man City 3-0 Man Utd

    Lindsay Johnson

I've seen Manchester City play better but they managed the game really well and put their chances away when they came.

A 3-0 win against a good Manchester United side shows their purpose and shows they are challengers this season.

The derby is Manchester City's and if you are going to win it, you win it with a goal like that.

It looks like Manchester City are setting up a title decider with Chelsea in April.

    Cake. Iced. For. City.

What a goal this is from Caroline Weir and Mary Earps had no chance.

A superb turn and chip on the edge of the penalty area from the City midfielder as she perfectly dinks it over the United goalkeeper on her left.

Stunning effort and that just puts the perfect gloss on City's performance.

Ellie Roebuck nearly caught out at the other end.

Christen Press again on the end of a through ball and she nearly rounds Roebuck who had rushed off her line quickly again.

Good recovery from the City goalkpeer to block her attempted shot on goal but she is down receiving some attention for a knock.

    Man City 2-0 Man Utd

City lining up once more to try and make it 3-0.

Georgia Stanway strikes a fierce shot on her right which is blocked by what looked like Amy Turner's face. Ouch!

She back at it for the corner and the low ball from Chloe Kelly finds Caroline Weir to strike one on her right. Mary Earps down well to save it on the line.

    Man City 2-0 Man Utd

City haven't been at their most fluent in this one, but now they look completely in control.

United seem to have had the stuffing knocked out of them by that second goal.

    Man City 2-0 Man Utd

City inches away from making it 3-0.

A brilliant battling challenge in midfield from Georgia Stanway sees her win the ball and then eventually square it to Chloe Kelly.

Kelly surges on into the penalty area before striking it on her right.

It skims off the side-netting just wide of the right post.

Manchester United were in this game, they were playing well and creating chances but now they have conceded.

But that's what good teams do - Manchester City were under the cosh but the way you combat that is by scoring a goal.

    Lauren Hemp

    Could well be game over.

City get their second and it's Lauren Hemp who scores for the second time in five days.

Chloe Kelly took a fierce strike on her left foot initially and Mary Earps palmed it away, but it fell to Hemp's left boot on the rebound and via a deflection off a United head, it goes in off the underside of the crossbar.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 70 mins

Second change for United sees Hayley Ladd replaced by Jess Sigsworth.

A positive move sending on another attacker but also Ladd was booked in the first half.

    Man City 1-0 Man Utd

United bustling now in a bid to get level.

They almost create some havoc between Abby Dahlkemper and Steph Houghton at the back for City, but the final ball still eluding Casey Stoney's side.

    Man City 1-0 Man Utd

Lucy Bronze is tripped down the right wing as she combines well with Chloe Kelly.

Bronze protests to the referee that Hayley Ladd, already on a yellow card, should get some more punishment.

Nothing given for now other than the free-kick which should've then been a corner off Amy Turner's head, but for some reason isn't given!
