Lucy Bronze doesn't full clear a header from a free-kick and Press strikes a clean volley that deflects behind for a corner off Steph Houghton's head.

Sadly the visitors can't quite send in a killer cross from the set piece.

Christen Press had the pace and the beating of the Manchester City defenders. Ellie Roebuck got it all wrong. A lighter touch and that was the equaliser.

Ellie Roebuck decides to race off her line to cut down the angle of a ball over the top from United for Christen Press.

Seems to do the trick as Press is forced into taking a shot early which goes very high and wide of the City goal.

Referee has a polite word with United midfielder Kirsty Hanson as she knocks Lucy Bronze off her stride.

Casey Stoney meanwhile can again be heard clearly on the touchline imploring her players to "get out" when City have the ball on halfway.

Christen Press on a marauding run gets a shot on target for United.

Gets past Steph Houghton with a drive into the box and then hits it cleanly on her right as the ball bounces up off the turf.

But it's straight at Ellie Roebuck as she gathers it low down.

Great move from City early in the half and Ellen White is denied again by a good save from Mary Earps.

Lauren Hemp with the quick ball into the edge of the penalty area from the left and White struck it first time.

Well palmed away from danger to her left by the United goalkeeper.

And we're back under way.

More injury concerns for Casey Stoney and her side trail at the break. Work to do but there's still not much between the two sides. There is space in behind Lucy Bronze which United have exploited on a few occasions but there hasn't been too much action at either end.

City did put away that chance and marginally deserve that 1-0 lead but Manchester United are still in this game but you wonder where that goal is going to come from.

As it stands, City will move up to second above United by a point and with a game in hand.

Plenty of reasons then for Casey Stoney's side to keep fighting in this one.

So City with the advantage at the break courtesy of Lucy Bronze's goal.

Just before the whistle went, United showed what Kirsty Hanson might offer them out wide as her low ball into the box nearly found Christen Press.

But Steph Houghton stuck out a leg to intercept at a crucial time for the hosts.

Kirty Hanson eventually comes on to replace Leah Galton in midfield and we will also have two minutes of injury time at the end of this first half.

United having to defend a corner with only 10 players while Kirsty Hanson gets ready on the bench.
