Some concern here for United with Leah Galton down on the ground receiving treatment.

Didn't look like she picked up the injury in a challenge for the ball.

Superb athleticism from Ellen White almost finds a second goal for City.

She has a first shot blocked in the box and then shows her agility to hit an overhead volley on the rebound.

Mary Earps with some smart reactions to get down well on her line and make the save.

United building up a bit of momentum now.

Ella Toone with a ball into the danger area from the right that Christen Press meets with her head, but from some distance out.

Deflection off Steph Houghton takes the sting out of it making it an easy gather for Ellie Roebuck.

    Man City 1-0 Man Utd

Alex Greenwood fouls Ella Toone as United look like getting a break on down the right.

Toone hobbling a bit after that challenge but the ball almost falls perfectly for Hayley Ladd after the free-kick.

She hits it on the turn with her left on the half-volley and it goes wide of the right post.

United's best chance so far without doubt.

Another goal conceded by United from a set-piece... Casey Stoney was really disappointed in the manner they conceded the two against Reading last weeekend so she won't be happy with that!

    Man City 1-0 Man Utd

United conceded both goals against Reading from set-pieces and some of that defensive fragility was still evident there before Bronze's goal.

Casey Stoney could be heard clearly shouting directions to her players about who and where they needed to be marking.

As City peeled away to celebrate, the camera then panned to the whole United side amassed trying to work out who was to blame.

Meanwhile, City's confidence is up and Georgia Stanway tries her luck from an acute angle with a shot that just skims over the crossbar.

It was a really good quality cross that United couldn't deal with. I'm not surprised with the high intensity of the game that Lucy Bronze was able to get on to it so quickly.

    Lucy Bronze

City ahead and Lucy Bronze on the volley is the player to get the first goal.

Inquests aplenty among the United players as they try to work out why they were unable to clear the corner.

Ball from Chloe Kelly went to the near post initially but it was poorly cleared in the air by United and nobody wanted to claim the second hall before Bronze latched on to it with her right and fired it through a sea of bodies on the six-yard box.

    Man City 0-0 Man Utd

United try and patiently play out from a goal kick but City win it back inside their own half.

Lauren Hemp eventully forces a corner off a deflection from Maria Thorisdottir.

    Man City 0-0 Man Utd

City's best hope at stretching United out of shape so far has been Chloe Kelly with her pace out wide to chase ball down the channels.

She has got on the end of a couple that many others probably wouldn't have reached, but hasn't been able to find the final ball.

At the other end, United almost catch City out as again Leah Galton finds a bit of time and space on the left, but the hosts get across to cover things and also clear a corner at the near post.

Manchester United are set-up in a very solid 4-4-2 off the ball, with Jackie Groenen and Christen Press chasing down from the front. Slightly unusual for United but it's working - City are struggling to find space.

    Man City 0-0 Man Utd

First real foray from City into United's penalty area.

Lauren Hemp and Alex Greenwood combined well on the left to send in a ball across goal.

It found Chloe Kelly at the back post, but then her ball back into the danger area was cleared by United centre-back Amy Turner.

More cancelling each other out in the middle third.

Just as someone looks set to work a break in midfield, an interception or a stray pass follows.

    Spot on Mike.

A case of Cat-and-Mouse is also another cliche I could spin here so far.

So far, it's not free-flowing, it's not consistent and it's a case of both sides trying to feel their way into this game.
